Description:
TITLE:             Senior Quantitative Analyst (Quantitative Management Associates LLC– Newark, NJ)
 
DUTIES:          Analyze current infrastructure systems to identify and resolve any weaknesses that could impact the strong growth curve of the Non-US Core Equity product line. Research and support the current alpha forecasting models for the team. Lead independent research projects by generating creative ideas and rigorous quantitative analysis that includes testing the efficacy of factors, writing production codes, manipulating large sets of data and conducting detailed analysis as required. Analyze financial markets, industry-specific, data to forecast business, industry and economic conditions and trends that help support appropriate investment decisions. Work on enhancements to the portfolio optimization process, and provide support for portfolio construction, performance attribution, and portfolio management activities, including ad-hoc research requests from Portfolio Managers.
 

REQTS:           Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Finance, Applied Economics, Mathematics or a related quantitative field plus five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in the job offered, or as an Investment Associate, Quantitative Analyst or a related position. Must have five (5) years of progressively responsible experience with: Using programming and database technologies, including Linux, R, Python, SQL Server and VB; Data downloading capabilities from third party vendors, including Bloomberg, and Factset; Working with financial data from databases, including Worldscope, IBES, and Lionshare (Factset Ownership); Working with large sets of data and live data consumption, the standard quant databases, in fast-paced environments including data feeds from the morning result in trade lists across multiple portfolios by the afternoon; Performing quantitative alpha research and modeling, portfolio construction and optimization, and risk management; Working with global equity products; Using relevant theoretical and empirical research, and integrating advanced academic research with applied industry practices to deliver superior risk adjusted investment performances; Working with portfolio managers to improve the models; Performing Quant research; and Developing and working with the equity multi-factor models. In the alternative, the employer will accept a Master's degree or foreign equivalent in a stated field plus three (3) years of experience in a related position. Any suitable combination of education, experience or training is acceptable.
