This role is for an individual contributor, lab scientist skilled in the conduct of biological research and drug development having in depth knowledge of molecular and cellular biology and/or biochemistry and in the conduct of primary research using the tools of these disciplines.


He/she will support the development of cellular, molecular, and biochemical assays for numerous projects. The candidate will be expected to design and conduct molecular, cellular, and biochemical assays to better understand drug targets, molecular pathways, and evaluate drug candidates.

The candidate will collaborate closely with other members of CTI-Cambridge, CTI scientists at other sites, and our academic partners to ensure aggressive project deliverables, goals and timelines are met. The candidate is expected to embrace and embody the entrepreneurial spirit and biotech-like culture, values and goals of CTI and contribute to creating an exciting, collaborative, productive, and scientifically rigorous working environment.


+ BS/MS in molecular/cellular biology, biochemistry, or a closely related field with 5-10+ years of experience conducting laboratory research.

+ Industry experience preferred

+ Experience in one or more of the following is desirable: immunology, metabolic disease, oncology, or neuroscience

+ Candidate must be self-motivated and enthusiastic about learning new areas of biology and in creating practical applications of those learnings.

+ Ability to succeed in a small, interactive, non-traditional drug-discovery environment

**Technical competencies**

+ Experience in the design, execution, and analysis of cellular, molecular, and/or biochemical assays.

+ Technical skills should also include experience with most or all of the following: PCR, RT-PCR, TaqMan, cell-based assays (e.g. cellular cytotoxicity, proliferation, reporter, ligand binding, etc. with multiple readouts), Western blotting, immunocytochemistry.

+ Experience in the discovery and characterization of biotherapeutics, including biotherapeutic antibodies, is desirable.

+ Experience with biochemical analyses such as Octet, ELISA, MSD, and others is desirable

+ Highly collaborative with a strong desire to make simultaneous contributions to multiple independent projects in a highly matrixed organization.

+ Strong written and oral communication skills.
