Description BioMedicine Design's Endogenous Antibody Discovery Group is seeking a Senior Scientist to drive antibody discovery campaigns. The candidate will be primarily responsible for designing and implementing strategies to generate lead antibody candidates by immunizations and hybridoma generation in a high throughput environment. The role also requires a significant contribution to technology development in the area of antibody discovery. The selected candidate will work in close coordination with BioMedicine Design's High Throughput Assay Screening group in lead identification. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record in the following areas:

+ Biotherapeutic lead selection with cell based methods (such as Hybridoma generation)

+ Experience with antibody discovery from primary B cells, including antibody isolation with in vitro methods and B cell repertoire analysis using Next Generation Sequencing

+ Dosing of rodents, including rats and mice

+ Evaluation of immune titers by ELISA, flow cytometry and immunofluorescence-based microscopy

+ Use of integrated lab automation

+ Antibody VH-VL molecular cloning

+ Evaluation of novel antibody discovery platforms

Role responsibilities:

+ Design and implementation of immunization strategies

+ Evaluation of immune responses by protein, cell-based and molecular methods

+ Generation and screening of antibodies using cell-based methods in a high-throughput environment

+ Evaluation of new technology platforms for antibody discovery

+ Preparation and delivery of detailed presentations, both written and verbal, to project teams

+ Effective communication and coordination of work in highly matrixed project team environment

Background in Immunology or Molecular Biology specifically with experience in B cell biology. Experience in an industry-like setting preferred. Experience with Biotherapeutic lead generation through cell-based methods, B cell repertoire analysis using Next Generation Sequencing and molecular biology, antibody cloning, and use of integrated laboratory automation desirable. Experience with protein and cell-based screening methods strongly preferred. Experience in the development of novel antibody platforms preferred.
