Manufacturing Sciences and Technology (MSAT) at Pfizer is looking for a highly motivated, versatile candidate to join our multidisciplinary team of scientists and engineers. The group supports Pfizer's portfolio of commercial biopharmaceuticals and vaccines and is responsible for process troubleshooting, process improvements and second generation process development. We are looking for someone who is eager to contribute independent thinking, technical leadership and guidance, and substantial skills while also representing MSAT on cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding and experience with all downstream/purification operations for bioprocess macro-molecules such as antibodies, cytokines and large polysaccharides. The candidate must be able to design and execute complex studies requiring highly organized data collection and management.the associated analytics. **ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES :**







+ Create and execute complex experimental designs, and manage, process and interpret large data sets, including multifactorial experimental design



+ Work either independently or collaboratively, depending on the need



+ Delve into complex problems using a multidisciplinary approach.



+ Proficiently communicate opinions and results using both written and oral communication skills



+ Assist with manufacturing investigations and process troubleshooting



+ Assist with technology transfers to cGMP facilities.



+ Assist with authoring and reviewing regulatory filings.



+ Guide or mentor junior colleagues in the lab







**QUALIFICATIONS:**







+ Proficient in column chromatography using multiple modes and resins



+ Proficient in ultrafiltration/diafiltration and associated data analysis required



+ Proficient in process biochemistry/solution chemistry



+ Experience with control and data acquisition systems is preferred



+ Familiarity with regulatory filings, cGMP requirements and operational constraints



+ Familiarity with DoE and other statistical tools



+ Familiarity with the constraints of working in a cGMP environment desirable







Minimum of 2 years of applicable bioprocess experience in purification science with a PhD, 6 years with an MS degree or 8 years with a BS degree. Specific experience with large molecule bioprocesses (antibodies, cytokines, large polysaccharides) is required.







**PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS** :



May involve typical bioprocessing lab activities (lifting, pipetting, sitting, standing, walking, small amounts of weekend/ late night work).



Will require data analysis, authoring and reviewing technical and regulatory documents and likely some review and/or authoring of batch records and SOPs.
