Position Description:
The Home Depot in Marietta, GA is seeking a Senior Network Assurance Engineer to be responsible for the overall review of the network security design and providing secure connectivity solutions to THD  allowing employees, partners, and customers to be more competitive, more productive, and more profitable in a global business environment. Pimarily responsible for engineering assurance services for our customers providing proper adherence to process and policy realted to network security. These include, Firewalls, NAC, and Web Proxy complaince for the enterprise.

  • Works directly with client/customer to perform information security reviews related to Firewall Rule Access and Web Proxy requests, reviewing for security compliance.
  • Produces thorough reports detailing the findings of the services-rendered and provide recommendations to help the client meet information security and
  • compliance standards
  • Serves as a Subject Matter Expert applying a holistic understanding of risk and regulatory compliance to assist customer strategies and solutions
  • Serves as a primary resource to cross functional team members and advises on risk mitigation opportunities. Stays informed of changes to the regulatory environment and internal security policy to ensure proper compliance with processes and requirement trends for our customer base related to network access.
  • Identifies and reports control deficiencies to management for escalation.
  • Assists in audits for industry specific reports realted to security devices on the network.
  • Executes established compliance processes with IT and Information Security policies, standards, guidelines and relevant legal and regulatory
  • requirements.
  • Creates and performs IT Security Compliance assessments of networking security devices/systems.
  • Assists in development and execution of information security, compliance, and risk best practices globally through audits and assessments.
The Sr. Systems Engineer develops, maintains, and supports The Home Depot's technical infrastructure that includes network, hardware, database, and system software components.   The Sr. Systems Engineer is responsible for collaborating with and enabling product teams with infrastructure. Sr. Systems Engineers are expected to leverage tooling and custom applications to monitor and optimize performance. In addition, Sr. Systems Engineers may be involved in routine upgrades and application support as well as root cause and post-mortem analyses around security incidents and service interruptions.  As a Sr. Systems Engineer, you will be able to operate independently, though typically working as part of a team with varying skillsets.

10% - Planning & Analysis:
Researches and analyzes business trends and behavioral data to identify opportunities for improvements and new initiatives
Drives the evaluation, development, and recommendation of specific technology products and platforms to provide cost-effective solutions that meet business and technology requirements
Researches and designs best fit infrastructure, network, database, and security architectures for products
Proactively creates and maintains tools for monitoring and support
Participates in project planning and reporting across multiple efforts
30% - Delivery & Execution:
Drives configuration, debugging, and support for infrastructure
Documents, reviews and ensures that all quality and change control standards are met
Drives field and corporate roll-outs of technology
Drives the stand up of necessary system software, hardware, and equipment (physical or virtual) to meet changing infrastructure needs
50% - Support & Enablement:
Collaborates with product and project teams to understand needs and enable them with infrastructure
Supports technology architecture design review efforts for project and product teams
Leverages tooling and custom applications to monitor the operational status of applications, infrastructure, networks, databases, and security; optimizes and tunes performance as appropriate
Drives root cause analysis, debugging, support, and post-mortem analysis for security incidents and service interruptions
Maintains, upgrades, and supports existing systems and infrastructure to ensure operational stability
Opens and manages vendor problem tickets to resolution
Drives the production of in-house documentation around solutions
Monitors tools and proactively helps teams struggling with systems issues
Provides application support for software running in production
Creates scripts and tools that drive automation and enable product teams and end users to move towards self service
10% - Learning:
Keeps abreast of innovations and industry trends as well as changes to internal systems and determines how they impacts tools, training, and support necessary to keep systems up, running, and secure
Participates in and contributes to learning activities around modern systems engineering core practices (communities of practice)
Proactively views articles, tutorials, and videos to learn about new technologies and best practices being used within other technology organizations
Typically reports to the Systems Engineer Manager or Sr. Manager.
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

4 to 6 years of practical information network security, regulatory, audit and/or compliance experience in a large enterprise environment.
4 to 6 years experience designing Network Routing and Switching environments.
4 to 6 years experience designing Firewalls and Web Proxy infrastructures.
CISSP, CISA, CRISC, and/or other information security-related certifications is a plus.
Experience with a variety of compliance, regulatory, and/or audit frameworks.
Experience with a variety of network security devices (Firewalls, Web Proxys, Router ACLs, NAC, Security Orchestration Tools)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience auditing information technology controls.
Strong analytical skills to analyze and evaluate technical information.
Knowledge of application and system vulnerabilities and exposures.
Knowledge of basic system, network, and operating system hardening techniques.
Knowledge of network architecture concepts including topology, protocols, and components. Knowledge of system administration concepts for Unix/Linux and/or Windows operating systems. Moderate knowledge of security policies and practices, including but not limited to Payment Card Industry (PCI). Ability to work independently on tasks and take ownership of projects.
Ability to speak Spanish is preferred**
