What You’ll Do

The S+CC team is responsible for driving the business in Smart Cities and Public Sector IoT globally.You will be responsible for selling the value of Cisco's smart city solutions by educating CXOs of cities and GTM partners on our Smart and Connected Community (S+CC) portfolio. You will develop customer centric solutions on a deal by deal basis. You will select S+CC ecosystems and work within the business unit to decide the next features of our Cisco S+CC roadmap. As part of this global team, this role will be responsible for the following key functions:

  • Continuously evolve the software and network architecture for Smart Cities centered on the industry leading Cisco Kinetic for Cities IoT App Enablement platform.
  • Work with engineering BU to bring in software requirements from the field and participate in architecting the platform.
  • Work very closely with Technical pre-sales team in the field to establish the value of Cisco Smart City solutions centered around Cisco Kinetic for Cities platform
  • Understand the software differentiators of Kinetic Platform and partner closely with Cisco ISV partners, bidding partners to craft smart city proposals for active smart city projects
  • Be the senior expert on Kinetic Platforms for all technical aspects
  • Engage in CXO level discussions at City Council, Service Providers and Urban Service providers for establishing the value of Cisco Kinetic Platform
  • Work with Cisco technology partners for various smart city use cases like lighting, parking, waste management, environment and so on and work with them for integration of those systems into CKC
  • Work with field sales teams on building customer proposals, crafting budgetary BoQ and BoMs, sizing documents for deploying Kinetic platform for on premise or cloud environments

Who You’ll Work With

This Senior Software Architect role will be in the global technology office of Smart + Connected Communities team of Cisco. The S+CC Team is focused on the business of smart cities across the globe. You will work with our Cisco Partner Management Team, our Sales and Account Teams, and our Business Unit and Marketing Teams.

We focus on solution development, architecture, and GTM ecosystem building. End to end architecture development for particular customer requirements, pitching solutions to partners, involves evaluating technology partners to be a part of S+CC ecosystem. This team is in the front of driving the S+CC business for Cisco.

Who You Are

You are well-educated in the smart city and IoT space. You understand basic networking fundamentals and have pre-sales exposure. You have a successful track record of architecture and solutions work, and you thrive in customer facing environments. You also have:

  • More than 15 years of software and networking experience
  • Good understanding of complex, distributed software systems. Understanding of IoT Software products is a big plus.
  • Strong experience with systems integration
  • Experience with command and control center platforms
  • Past or current experience with smart sensor technologies. Experience withing the smart city domain is preferred.
  • Understanding of current state of IoT market and platforms is a huge plus
  • Proven understanding of API and SDK technologies, WebServices, Big Data Platforms like Hadoop, REST/JSON etc.
  • Experience with customer facing technical presales skills are a requirement
  • Good understanding IoT software deployment models like cloud, hybrid cloud deployments.
  • Good skills in implementing software security
  • Exposure to data analytics
