Description:

We are looking for a Full Stack Developer for Cox Automotive Media Analytics Team, with strong hands on experience in all layers of the full stack! We especially need your experience with streaming technologies like Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, and Scala; NoSQL environments like MangoDB, DynamoDB; data processing using Spark with Scala, Java, and Python. This is NOT a junior programmer position and would require strong design experience. The job responsibilities at the same level of expertise would also include development of web applications using Java, Spring boot, React, Javascript, Node, and other required technologies as well as mobile technologies. Owing to the complexity of the system, across the entire product stack, the expectation is to provision the functionalities using Restful Web Services and microservices. This Full Stack Developer will work with their associated delivery teams to solution projects on the cloud (AWS) and will need to source and manage data on-premise systems like Vertica, Netezza, and related ETL tools. As a fully functioning scrum team member, the Full Stack Developer would be involved in full SDLC and is expected to lead design, development, and CI/CD operations.

Specific Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Leading the team in delivery with approximately 60-80% hands-on coding 
  • Acting as the technical subject matter expert: Mentoring fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and leading a small team solving challenging programming and design problems
  • Architecting and developing web, software, data solutions, prototypes, or proofs of concepts (POCs)
  • Generate technical documentation and PowerPoint presentations to communicate architectural and design options, and educate development teams and business users
  • Resolve defects/bugs during QA testing, pre-production, production, and post-release patches
  • Work cross-functionally with various Intuit teams including: product management, QA/QE, various product lines, and/or business units to drive forward results
  • Demonstrate a passion for developing well architected, elegant, web and/or mobile apps
  • Experience with Agile Development, SCRUM, or Extreme Programming methodologies
  • Design, review, implement and optimize data transformation processes in streaming, relational databases, and/or NoSQL in cloud environments.
  • Designing NoSQL collections and optimizing the collections to surface functionalities through web services
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with your own team as well as other development teams
  • Ability to translate customer and business needs into working software
  • Expected to present project replays and relevant external learnings to local team in the form of Knowledge Transfer sessions
  • Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise by being actively engaged in both internal and external learning opportunities to provide better solutioning

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Services, Mathematics, Statistics, or other applicable area from a four-year university or equivalent industry experience
  • 5+ years experience designing and developing web, software, or mobile applications 
  • 3+ years experience with web services (consuming or creating) with REST or SOAP
  • 2+ years experience in data ingestions including streaming and batch processing
  • High performer with the ability to demonstrate their higher-level technical experience on a daily basis 
  • Expertise with the following: Java, React, Scala, Python, Spark, Spring boot
  • Expertise with the entire Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and CI/CD processes
  • Expertise in the Software design/architecture process
  • Experience in writing APIs with ability to write clear, consistent, simple to use interfaces
  • Experience in Jenkins & Maven
  • Strong leadership experience: Leading meetings, presenting, technical go to person, and cross-functional leader
  • Excellent communication skills: Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Business Acumen - strategic thinking & strategy development
  • Ability to build strong delivery teams - set and evangelize vision, facilitative leadership, attract and retain key talent
