vAuto, a Cox Automotive Brand, is currently looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our team in Austin, TX.


Job Summary:

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing and implementing programs as required to support the technical capabilities at vAuto. This includes both the development of new programs and maintaining existing programs. In the role of Senior Software Engineer, you will be expected to deliver timely responses to production issues, taking ownership of effectively seeing these issues through resolution. To be successful in the role of Senior Software Engineer you must be able to work effectively in a fluid, fast-paced agile environment while maintaining good communication with management and team members.


Technology we use on the Integrations Team:

C#, .NET, AWS, XSLT


Your Role:

  • Participate in the design of new programs or maintain existing programs

  • Develop new programs or maintain existing programs based on specifications

  • Develop, implement and maintain unit tests of programs

  • Respond quickly and effectively to production issues and taking responsibility for seeing those issues through resolution.

  • Actively participate in agile team activities

  • For the assigned applications, functional areas or projects:

    • Develop and maintain thorough system knowledge

    • Participate in problem solving and troubleshooting

    • Participate in functional test planning and testing

    • Work with the team to maintain system quality

  • Stay current with changes in the technical area of expertise

  • Share knowledge by effectively documenting work



Qualifications

Required Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent professional experience in C#

  • Minimum of 6 years’ experience in object oriented programming (C#, Java, C++).

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience writing SQL backed applications

Team Summary:

The Integrations team is the foundation for which vAuto runs its business on.  We are the team that collects and process all the data coming in and out.  Whether it's through 3rd party file feeds, web scraping or flat file exports we make sure the data coming in is on time and in the correct state.  You don't need to be a car enthusiast, just an enthusiast of technology.  We deal with all the back-end processes written in C# and interacting with Oracle.  We are constantly improving our systems so bring your thinking cap on because we enjoy keeping up with technology and pushing boundaries.
