Description

Cox Media Inc is looking for a suitable candidate that provides leadership and strategic direction for design, development, delivery and maintenance of current and future Core Ad Systems addressing internal and external business needs.  Establishes and implements solutions to meet business and/or project needs.  Solutions Architect is responsible for the oversight of Cox Media’s core business systems.   This role will serve as the vital expert resource as business opportunities, projects, and capabilities arise that are tied to advertising core business systems.  The position will work closely with other departments (sales, sales support, vendors, partners, and back office fulfillment) to ensure CASs are being used to the fullest extent as well as efficiently and effectively meet business needs.
Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for subject matter expertise on all Core System Applications
  • Creates and manages appropriate systems and processes to deliver a quality internal and external customer experience through effective development, operational support, tools, consistent methodology, continuous improvement and metrics
  • Manages activities and technical issues associated with providing technical service and/or solutions to customers by identifying, prioritizing and confirming resolution of reported problems
  • Manages phases of approved CAS projects for assigned function including development of business requirements and justification, analysis of potential solutions, and preparation of appropriate project plan and/or purchase requisitions
  • Collaborates with vendors in defining and development of technologies to support internal and external business needs.
  • Responsible to understand all integrations between Core Ad Systems
  • Responsible for understanding of system requirements to most effectively support Core Ad Systems
  • Facilitates and leads discussions across functional groups and key stakeholders to identify and validate CAS solution strategy, supporting initiatives, and key deliverables
  • Responsible to lead solution design for projects/changes that impact Core System Applications
  • Responsible for collaborating with partner and peer organizations to understand how CSAs are used outside of the company.
  • Responsible to provide training assistance for CSAs in the form of documentation, interviews, or leading online/in person classes.
  • Maintains awareness of business, technical, operational, architecture and infrastructure issues and acts as sounding board or consultant to aid in the development of creative solutions
  • Perform security audits for all CSAs to ensure compliance with corporate standards
  • Responsible for validation of all upgrades, updates, and SOWs that affect CSAs
  • Take lead role in representing Cox Media capabilities interest with CSA vendors for roadmap and enhancement needs

Qualifications

Qualifications:
 
  • 5+ years of experience required in Cable Advertising Systems (Linear Ad Insertion, Traffic & Billing Systems, Digital Advertising Platforms, etc.)
  • Requires strong knowledge and ability to articulate to vendors with ad systems capabilities and emerging business needs
  • Demonstration of strong understanding of data workflow design and integration capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, presentation, and collaboration skills to work effectively with teams throughout organization.
 
Preferred:
 
  • BS/BA degree in related discipline strongly desired (i.e. Engineering, Computer Science, etc.) 
  • Training and Experience:  5+ Years, Prefer 7+ years.
  • Influence/People Leadership:  No Direct People Leadership – Will be responsible to influencing technology roadmaps for Core Ad Systems.
  • Span of Control:  Activities are highly specific and complex focused on a single subject matter OR May be responsible for complex projects having significant scope/impact
  • Decision-Making Authority:  With oversight from higher level managers, achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience
  • Financial:  May manage or coordinate a project budget or multiple project budgets
  • Consequence Of Error:  Actions at this level can cause or prevent delays, inefficiencies or unnecessary expense that measurably affect operational results of Cox Media or the efficiency and effectiveness of a team &/or projects managed.
  • Typical Problems Solved:  Solutions require analysis and investigation beyond what might have been applied in past experiences; problems are broadly defined and require interpretation.
