Job Details

This position is accountable for:

Providing environmental, health and safety support to Pfizer colleagues, property, and operations.

Administering comprehensive programs to facilitate Pfizer compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations and Pfizer guidelines.

Analyzing existing and planned products, processes, equipment, facilities, and programs to develop and implement proactive strategies to minimize injury, illness, property loss, impact on the environment, and business interruption.


+ Maintains awareness of new regulations and interprets less complex regulations affecting a specific area.

+ Interacts with corporate contacts and contractors with management oversight.

+ Maintains knowledge of basic principles and legal requirements relative to EHS.

+ Develops less complex compliance programs; supports senior team members with permitting activities.

+ Understands and complies with company practices and policies and the applicable Pfizer requirements (e.g. EHS Management Systems, EHS Guidelines, etc.).

+ Coordinates assigned elements/activities associated with established Site, PGM, and Corporate EHS programs. This may also include administrative and training requirements and routine maintenance of EHS data.

+ Interacts effectively with a wide variety of areas and a broad spectrum of people with diverse backgrounds, and accountabilities (i.e. operating, technical, management, regulatory).

+ Communication and presentations at internal & external meetings.

+ Successfully completes training required to perform job assignments and seeks out additional training opportunities to enhance skills and abilities for program compliance and improvements.

+ Provides technical training to appropriate individuals or groups on environmental, health and safety issues.

+ Trains other individuals with training responsibilities in order that they can communicate information to others within their organizations, as needed.

+ May provide 24-hour response to assist in the resolution of emergency or spill response incidents or in the community.

+ Performs other tasks as directed by Senior EHS staff and EHS management.


**Education:** A relevant BA/BS degree, chemical or environmental engineering preferred.

**Experience: 2-5** years related experience

**Language Skills:** A good knowledge of computer operation and common programs such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required. The colleague must also have excellent interpersonal skills, creativity in problem solving, flexibility, and excellent written and oral communication skills.


**Mathematical Skills:** Good math skills required

**Reasoning Ability:** Routine and more complex compliance requirements decisions in more than one area with periodic oversight. Assignments are broadly defined indicating objectives required. Recommends cost effective, technically feasible, and business-oriented control alternatives for environmental, colleague and property protection.

**Work Environment:** Office and field.


Standard work schedule: Monday - Friday. However, must complete 1-2 rotations as Off-shift spill responder each calendar year.
