Senior Strategic Account Executive drives retention and growth through development of account strategies and business relationships with our strategic Health Plan clients. As the Senior Strategic Account Executive, your role is focused on delivering best - in - class service to our clients, supporting their employee pharmacy benefit plans, managing the client relationships, as well as developing new business from existing clients. The ability to proactively identify client’s needs and establish proactive plans will be key in this role. Relationship development both internal and with the client’s key stakeholders, will be necessary to ensure client satisfaction. This position requires a high - performing individual with proven communication skills, strong critical thinking skills and an ability to lead complex client engagement strategies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for management of book of business
  • Secure renewal and upselling programs
  • Manage ongoing contract relationships and service delivery to clients for ten or more accounts
  • Act as outward - facing, dedicated resource for assigned accounts, typically with direct client contact (not call center) and large or complex accounts
  • Build relationships with employer / group clients (not individual members) and partners with a OptumRx Client Relations Manager for overall and day - to - day service delivery
  • Represent client internally and coordinates with other functions to implement client systems, complete projects, and address ongoing service needs

 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years Client Relationship Management or Account Management experience
  • Advanced understanding of PBM industry
  • Medicare / Medicaid experience
  • Strong oral and written communication
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Client facing presentation experience
  • Experience cross - selling / upselling products to customers
  • Ability to work in self - motivated environment with limited supervision
  • Ability to Travel 25% to visit client base primarily in the Eastern Region

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Able to demonstrate professionalism both with internal and external clients
  • Project Management Experience / Certification
