Job Details

Sr Associate Business Analyst, Systems is a business focused engineer who works as a member of an infrastructure team responsible for design, engineering, and life-cycle administration of Pfizer-Meridian enterprise server and storage infrastructure. Work scope covers IT systems operations (configuration, performance, troubleshooting, incident management, disaster recovery/business continuity, patch management), projects (design new technology, upgrades, and retirements), and processes (change/event management, release management, monitoring).







**Technology System Operations / Administration - 40%**







+ Supports the design, configuration, and manages all aspects of the Pfizer St. Louis Manufacturing Business Technology server infrastructure.



+ Serves as the primary support analyst for enterprise server and application operating environments (i.e. Windows 2000/2003/2008/Linux/Unix, Citrix, VMWare 5/6, Nimble SAN Technologies, MS Exchange, AD, Sharepoint 2010+, SSCM 2012, )



+ Directs the build and installation of new business software releases, system upgrades; evaluates and installs patches and resolves enterprise application related issues.



+ Ensures proper maintenance of server and application documentation including procedures.



+ Configures and manages systems monitoring with Solarwinds performance monitoring; takes corrective actions to return systems and applications to normal business service levels.



+ Server administration with physical servers and VMWare - specifically Microsoft platforms



+ Supports backup processes using Commvault technology and further develops future backup procedures and optimizations. Plans and performs system backups and recovery per corporate and department procedures.



+ Maintains technical competency through research and training; remains current in technology advances and industry best practices relative role scope and system operations. **IT Business / Service Management - 40%**



+ Enterprise incident and problem management activities using HP Service Center; will interact with SME end-users as needed during incident/problem management.



+ Ensures periodic assessments of local site infrastructure are executed and planned upgrades are completed per direction.



+ Maintains infrastructure inventory/assets and related configurations; helps drive alignment and corrections to global standards and tools.



+ Participates in local change advisory teams and coordinates any changes with all parties involved; has deep understanding and appreciation for change management processes and documentation practices



+ Works with Corporate infrastructure teams to continuously align or adopt best IT technical and support practices at the site level.



+ Escalates and works with IT management to help resolve complex issues related to business computing infrastructure and application performance.







**Project Management / Innovation - 20%**







+ Capable of leading small, cross-functional teams on new project initiatives to install new services or upgrade existing services. Mentors junior engineers.



+ Participates as the SME in larger project teams to deliver design, hardware/software builds, and technical approaches in the scope of site role.



+ Effectively prioritizes and balances personal and team execution needs across system operations and new project work streams.



+ Continuously researches corporate or market technologies for local opportunities to add business value.



+ Ensures the introduction of new/ modified infrastructure happens in a planned, controlled and timely manner to minimize disruption and maximize benefit.







Coordinates communication of changes, outages, or enabling infrastructure project work (with joint accountability from Global IT Teams or local Business and IT Teams).







Qualifications







+ Proficient in English



+ Associates Degree preferred or equivalent experience



+ 8+ years in application support and server administration



+ Experience leading infrastructure project management & service level management initiatives with management oversight.



+ Background with PowerShell (Or equivalent automation tools).



+ The following certifications sought or willing to obtain in first 12-18 months:



+ ITIL foundations



+ VMware - VCA-DCV



+ Microsoft MCSE



+ Design and execution level knowledge in tapeless Enterprise Backup and Recovery Solutions



+ Deep Active Directory GPO administration and server based DHCP and DNS



+ Deep understanding, design, and administration of VMware / Virtualization technology



+ Strong understanding and history supporting of multi-tier solution architectures



+ Strong understanding of MS Enterprise applications (Exchange, SharePoint, ect)



+ Extensive experience with blade hardware build and architecture design and support



+ Basic technical support competency with Linux\\Oracle technology stacks



+ Basic technical support for back-end support of IBM Domino\\Lotus Notes



+ Nimble & HP SAN / NAS Systems or storage and virtualized storage system knowledge (i.e. EMC)



+ SIP/VOIP Telecommunications technical familiarity



+ Hosted cloud solutions / SaaS experience a plus ( desired, not required )







Knowledge of FDA regulated systems or manufacturing system within the context of role ( desired, not required )
