Cox Automotive is seeking an Senior UX Visual Designer to join our Client Success Operations team in Atlanta, GA.

The Senior UX Visual Designer, reporting to the Director of Business Intelligence, will be responsible for designing dashboards that provide end users with actionable insights and interactive experiences, drawing on (UX) User Experience principles. Candidate must have a strong eye for clean visual design with the ability to convey the story behind the data in a meaningful matter. The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment is critical.


Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Design interactive experiences that draw on (UX) User Experience and visualization design principles, creating something that is both attractive and easy to understand with the ultimate goal of providing the end user with actionable insights
  • Ensure that dashboards visually convey the story behind the data
  • Ensure that dashboards facilitate data driven decisions on what the next best action is to achieve our strategic objectives
  • Play lead role in design sessions to understand user’s needs and identify the UX and visual approach that will be most effective
  • Create wireframes, user interface mockups, and prototype designs
  • Collaborate with multiple stakeholders in both the business and IT function to define business requirements, underlying data and technical requirements for dashboard development
  • Participate in UAT sessions and training dashboard users
  • Participate in data quality reviews of new information sources and refinement of existing data sources
  • Acquire and maintain a working knowledge of our clients, functional areas across business units and sales applications, such as Einstein Analytics / Wave
  • Work effectively on multiple assignments, activities or projects. Manage projects according to the plan-of-record (e.g., expected outcomes, timelines, deliverables, budget)
  • Assist with managing stakeholder expectations


Qualifications

Required:


The candidate must have a solid background in design thinking focused on user centered design processes. Experience in data visualization and conveying the story behind the data is a must. Familiarity with prototyping tools and graphic design software like Sketch, Photoshop, Illustrator. Previous experience with Einstein Analytics / Wave preferred.  

  • A Bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience in (UX) User Experience and data visualization design principles, OR and equivalent combination of training and experience. 
  • 3+ years of UX and data visualization experience in creating analytical dashboards.
  • Ability to simplify large and/or complex data sets into meaningful insights.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders across all levels of an organization
  • Good listener with outstanding interpersonal qualities and a natural, effective consultative style
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong project and program management skills
  • Experience in the full project life cycle, including analysis, design, development, delivery and post-delivery support
  • Microsoft Office (ie Power point, Word, Excel)

Preferred:

  • Proficient with data visualization platform (Einstein / Wave Analytics, Tableau or similar product)
  • Strategic thinker with solid business acumen and MBA a plus
  • Sales knowledge or experience working with Field Sales a plus
  • Functional work experience visualizing data in Finance or Business Intelligence and/or storytelling in Communications preferred
  • A passion for data analytics and visualization
  • Experience working with Agile or Lean delivery environment a plus, but not required
