Description

The Senior Vice President, HR Business Partners and Employment Practices is responsible for leading HR strategy and execution for Cox Automotive. The SVP, HR Business Partners and Employment Practices will report to Executive Vice President, CHRO.

This position leads a broad team of corporate, field, and business-based HR Business Partners, including direct and indirect reports; this team is strategically aligned with business functions across the company to drive best practices and support the organization’s most important asset—our people.

This leader is responsible for providing comprehensive, consultative HR solutions, cross functional leadership, and team member support across the organization. 

This leader serves as a business liaison for People Strategies and actively collaborates with the executive team and other key business leaders to define and execute domestic and international business strategies. Further, this leader is responsible for the Employment Practices function for the organization. This team creates policies, identifies solutions and manages risk in relation to employment policies and practices.

Responsibilities: 

  • Interacts and consults with key executive and business leaders to collaborate on business objectives and priorities ; with the goal of aligning people strategy with business needs.
  • Supports the Chief Human Resources Officer in the strategic leadership of the HR function.
  • Leads and manages the HR Business Partner Team to include corporate, and business leaders across Cox Automotive.  
  • Aligns HR policies and strategy delivery with organizational objectives and market data to promote companywide best practices, consistency and competitiveness.
  • Creates and evaluates the effectiveness of HR partnerships and develops strategies to ensure that the HR function is aligned with the business and delivering results at a superior level. 
  • Provides consultative solutions and coaching for  leaders on performance and leadership.
  • Partners with HR and business leadership teams to define and execute team member engagement strategy for Cox Automotive.
  • Utilizes data and metrics to lead, support and drive business decisions. 
  • Assesses overall current HR practices, identifies areas for enhancement, and develops a business plan/course of action to address them.
  • Partners and consults with Centers of Excellence and Shared Services teams to create strategies, tools, and processes to ensure business and people needs are met. 
  • Recommends processes and programs to promote the success of the company to enhance our position in the marketplace.
  • Attract, lead, motivate and retain a high-performance HR team
  • Partners with HR and business leaders to ensure that effective performance management processes are in place for all team members. 
  • Partners with Learning and Talent Management to provide training and/or facilitation services as needed to promote people related, individual and group development through a variety of interventions and assessments.
  • Provides thought leadership on people, processes and structures to ensure organizational effectiveness across client groups.

Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree required.  Major in Human Resources or related field preferred
  • Must have a minimum of 10 years of progressive executive level Human Resources Management/Business experience
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with leaders and team members  at all levels of the organization
  • Experience in leading large multi-site/multi-state HR teams is required
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant employment laws
  • Strong organizational, facilitation and project management skills
  • Strong financial and business acumen
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management
  • SPHR certification a plus
  • Ability to travel up to 50%
