Description

 Cox Communications is searching for a Service Assurance Analyst to join our Wi-Fi & High Speed Internet Service Management team. You will leverage our database platforms, tools and data sources to collect, analyze, interpret and present operations, service fulfillment & service assurance data to leadership. You will be responsible for determining how data is captured and used through hands-on investigation and working with our business partners. We are looking for an individual who is driven to discover, willing to drive improvement and cost reduction as well as someone who will communicate well with mid-level and senior leadership. You should be experienced working directly with large volumes of data using SQL and tools such as Alteryx, Oracle Business Intelligence and Tableau. 

You will partner with service owners across Technology and Engineering to create an ongoing periodic reporting suite of metrics, KPIs and dashboards to define programs to reduce customer trouble transactions within the High-Speed Internet and Wi-Fi services. Our business changes quickly so the ability to explore and understand new data and problems is key. You will also work directly with a variety of internal users including senior executives so the ability to communicate complex information in simple ways is a plus.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  • Develop and lead the effort to collect, compile and analyze data, from various structured and unstructured sources, to perform statistical and usage analyses.
  • Develop data requirements to support High Speed Internet and Wi-Fi products and new insights
  • Use data and business knowledge to find new ways to answer key business questions.
  • Work with large amounts of data, gathering, cleansing, analyzing and summarizing. Strong SQL skills are a must.
  • Develop analytical strategies to solve business problems – this involves understanding the business problem, identifying relevant data, gathering and summarizing data meaningfully and applying appropriate statistical analysis to identify causal relationships and predict future outcomes. Deliverables must be high-quality with strong attention to detail.
  • Use Tableau, Excel, Alteryx and other tools to create visualizations and reports to explore and explain data.
  • Contribute to our constantly-evolving data layer by creating new ways of understanding our business.
  • Create dashboards and ad-hoc reports on key business metrics impacting the High-Speed Internet and Wi-Fi services.
  • Analyze engineering network performance trends to identify customer impacting issues.
  • Present insights through formal and informal presentations and written reviews.
  • Lead cross functional teams in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

Qualifications

Minimum:

 

  • 5 plus years of related experience
  • Experience with SQL is key as well as a desire to build new skills
  • Information architecture, statistics, mathematics preferred
  • Strong process development & improvement skills

Preferred:

 

  • 5 years of analytics experience working with a variety of data sources
  • 2-4 years of experience working with Visualization Tools, i.e. Tableau
  • Experience with creative and analytical thinking – knowledge of how to ask and answer questions with data
  • Experience working in a large data environment doing SQL development.
  • Experience using data analytics to drive process improvement and cost reduction.
