Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
Reporting to the business operations director to execute the merchandising strategy for D23 classes 15, 56-60, 62. Specifically, the Merchandise Planner will assist in driving sales and generating profit. The role serves as the primary support for setting up and maintaining material and labor assortments through data management, responding to stores and vendors, and providing analytical support to help achieve their sales and profit plans. The role is also charged with working with cross-functional groups to gain insight on trends and issues that would have an impact on the business.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

40% - Executes the merchandising strategy. Manages all product information for assigned merchandising categories; works with d23 to onboard new products and relays product information to HDMS.
30% - Assists in driving sales and generating profit. Utilizes merchandising and HDMS systems to analyze key merchandising metrics (e.g., class productivity, product trending, margin rate) and provides recommendations for optimization and business improvement. Provide advanced analytics, database review and forward-looking analysis.
10% - Partners with cross-functional groups across the business to analyze components of the business where problems/trends exist.
10% - Works on behalf of the business operations director to identify, quantify, and communicate improvement opportunities; helps develop targets and strategies, if applicable
10% - Works on various products and process tests

This position reports to Business Operations Director.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.
