What does the role involve?

We are looking for an enthusiastic Shopper Marketing intern who will strengthen our team for 6 months, from August/September 2018 onwards!

At shopper marketing, we develop our campaigns to positively influence buyer behavior. We do this by combining data received from the consumer, the shopper and the retailer, and by identifying the so-called shopper barriers and triggers. We make our products relevant to the shopper, help the shopper to find our category and products, and ensure that the shopper ends up purchasing the product.

In order to get these insights from the data and enable these campaigns, you will collaborate internally with shopper marketing professionals in many different disciplines such as Brand Marketing, Account Management, Field Sales, Legal and Regulatory Affairs. You will also experience working across countries, because within our team you will take projects for both the Dutch and Belgian markets. Externally, you will switch to different design agencies, print managers, and other key suppliers that we work together to create successful campaigns. You are therefore a real spider in the web within a commercial team!

As a shopper marketing intern, you contribute to the development of shopper activations of our in- store brands (Lay's, Doritos, Cheetos, Duyvis, Sunbreaks, Quaker, Tropicana, Naked, Alvalle). These can be display activations, but also in-store tastings or shelf materials. You develop the designs for this and ensure that the right Point of Sale (POS) materials are used. In addition, you are completely responsible for making and delivering retail & trade ads (eg, Allerhande & Distrifood) for our brands. The quantitative and qualitative evaluation of our campaigns is also in your hands.

To make this role a success, you will need strong communication skills, coupled with a sharp organizational ability. This enables you to create concrete shopper activations with all stakeholders. You can deal at various levels within the organisation, and are able to set good priorities. In addition, you are proactive, and have a critical mindset.

Who are we looking for?

You are someone who:
is an HBO / WO Bachelors or Masters student, or has graduated (max. 3 months) with a degre related to marketing / communication / business administration, with affinity for the FMCG / marketing industry.
has strong planning and organizational skills. You must be able to handle deadlines well and make priorities;
has a proactive and confident attitude. You are not afraid to go down to others and work with multiple departments;
has a sense of responsibility to complete work well and within the deadline;
has critical look at the work, with creativity and analytical ability a prerequisite;
is fluent in Dutch (in both speaking and writing) and has a good command over the English language too.
has some knowledge of the French language
