About The Ridge:

 

The Ridge Behavioral Health System is seeking a dynamic and talented Sober Living Staff member. Located in Lexington, KY, the heart of the Bluegrass, The Ridge Behavioral Health System offers a healing environment that is reassuring to a patients’ sense of security and confidentiality. Dedicated to excellence, The Ridge Behavioral Health System is accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, as a licensed, 110-bed hospital, providing psychiatric (mental health) and chemical dependency (drug & alcohol rehabilitation) services to children, adolescents and adults. Inpatient care is provided on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week. Outpatient and partial hospitalization services are provided on a six-day per week basis, days and evenings. Care is provided according to an established code of ethical conduct and strict adherence to patient rights. The Ridge Behavioral Health System is owned and operated by Universal Health Services. Position Summary:

 

The Sober Living Staff member provides routine, non-acute care for the patient while fostering a positive sober living environment. 

 

Position Specific Competencies:

 

  • Provides orientation to Extended Stay facility and schedule to new patients
  • Coordinates sober-living activities consistent with the recovery model used for the PHP program
  • Performs random urine drug screens as per policy
  • Coordinates home-pass requests with patients
  • Conducts thorough room checks and inventory checklist at curfew
  • Adheres to program rules and procedures as identified in the handbook
  • Initiates follow-up for patients late for curfew as prescribed in the patient handbook
  • Maintains the boarding census and collections of boarding fees
  • Updates the sober living activity schedule monthly
  • Assists with sponsor outreach
  • Provides punctual transportation for shuttle service
  • Facilitates education groups
  • Communicates with clinical team any pertinent patient information
  • Provides additional transportation as necessary for physician appointments and pharmacy needs
  • Maintains current and active room keys for patient and staff
  • Communicates with Director of Outpatient Services providing program report
  • Investigates reports of patient non-compliance and provides accountability as needed with patients
  • Provides ownership of program and functions independently and self-schedules

Job Requirements

Education

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Some college course work preferred

Experience

  • Experience may be accepted in lieu of college course work.

Certifications/Licensure

  • CPR

Other Skills

  • Must demonstrate basic knowledge of emotional and mental health and disease concepts including the disease of addiction.
  • Must have clear communication / interaction skills and demonstrate competency in facilitating psycho-education groups.
  • Must have prior experience working with addiction populations
