Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE

Community Management, Social Media Editor develops new content for The Home Depot, including social platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, Twitter, The Home Depot's Blog, etc. Tasks include the creation of original materials (photography, Pinterest infographics, DIY projects, video production) and the curation of existing assets from social influencers, vendors, and enterprise partners. Manages social properties to align to company priorities to drive draw to the stores and online. The person will become a trusted member of the social community, serving as a liaison between the social channel community and the brand.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 40% Generating and curating content for social media platforms, web pages, blog posts and other mediums. Assignments could range from original blog posts with DIY projects, creation of video, photography and infographics, the curation of the above from 3rd party partners, or the adaption of material from associate sources 
  • 20% Supporting company initiatives such as marketing campaigns & our "always-on" social connectivity strategy through execution plans, ranging from channel-specific strategic breakdowns to support priorities outlined by Leadership, to development of channel-agnostic campaigns for seasonal priorities. 
  • 10% Collaborate on the development of presentations, pulling analytics, competitive benchmarking and SWOT analyses. 
  • 10% Act as a representatives of THD brand, communicate w/social influencers to crowdsource User Generated Content. Manage outreach to social influencers via social channels, agency partners &mrktg events. Work w/influencers to develop multi-channel support for co. campaigns 
  • 10% Ensure all work/copy/content/video is top quality, proofread and error-free and adheres with company standards and brand guidelines. Work with enterprise partners (PR, Merchandising, Broadcast/Print, Agencies, etc.) to develop copy/creative/video for channel deployment 
  • 10% Work in CMS/Editing/publishing software & social platform interfaces to edit, curate, & publish to platforms, including social media channels. Tasks include maintenance of blog metadata,curation of YouTube playlists,& scheduling of content to publish on platforms such as Pinterest, Tumblr, Twitter, etc

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
3 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Additional Qualifications:

Knowledge of Microsoft Office
Prior Web experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Web best practices and social publishing software.
  • Professional experience associated with social media platforms and corresponding tools such as enterprise management, content management, back-end platform analytics.
  • Strong SEO and creative background is encouraged.
  • Experience with DIY projects, photography, design, video
