About the Social Work Supervisor role:

  • Planning, preparation, and facilitation of group psychotherapy and psych education/ life skills groups;
  • Individual case management for assigned cases, including: patient orientation, psychosocial assessments, patient meetings, collateral contacts, family meetings, progress notes, and discharge planning;
  • Ongoing monitoring of patient risk assessment/management;
  • Documentation of patient participation/progress in deficiencies as necessary;
  • Supervision and management of social work team;
  • Participation in rounds and treatment team/planning meetings, and facilitation of administrative and clinical supervision for social work staff;
  • Attendance and participation in weekly staff meetings, administrative/program development meetings, and quarterly training sessions;
  • Coordination of social work program schedule and staffing, including leave coverage;
  • Participation in program development and continuous quality improvement activities;
  • Development and implementation of social work initiatives for continuous quality improvement;
  • Documents discharge planning needs and updated information on the psychosocial assessment, master treatment plan, and each treatment plan update.
  • Monitors insurance requirements and keeps utilization reviewer and other treatment team members current with patient’s progress, family meetings, and other case occurrences.
  • Documents clearly any requests for extensions in length of stay due to lack of proper placement or adequate discharge planning and/or clinical regression.
  • Performs case management functions as needed.
  • Informs other staff members in a timely manner of new developments in a given case.
  • Demonstrates a professional attitude during internal and external communication and interactions with all staff, patients, family members, guests, community and referral sources.
Job Requirements
  • Masters degree in Social Work
  • Licensure in clinical social work, LICSW preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience in delivery of direct clinical services in a behavioral health setting, some portions of which must have included treatment of post traumatic conditions.
  • Minimum two (2) years experience in behavioral healthcare administrative/supervisory position, duties including program development, utilization review, and provision of direct clinical supervision.
  • Experience in individual, group and systems psychotherapy, and clinical case management;
  • Experience in inpatient hospital work preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of hospital systems, including intake/admission procedures, and experience in working with third party payors preferred.
