Job Description

Arbour Hospital is a 136-bed private psychiatric facility located in Boston’s Jamaica Plain neighborhood. The hospital specializes in adult mental health treatment, adolescent and dual diagnosis services. Other services include partial hospitalization programs (PHP) and outpatient treatment.

Arbour Hospital located in Boston’s Jamaica Plain area is seeking dynamic and talented Inpatient Case Management Social Workers.  This is a per-diem position.  The Social Worker is responsible for the completion of a psychosocial assessment/evaluation, provides treatment, therapy, psycho-education and/or counseling utilizing individual, family or group modalities as well as the development of a clinical discharge plan for continuing care.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Assessment treatment plan and goals
  • Coordinates discharge planning with patient, family and outside agencies as necessary
  • Coordinates aftercare planning with psychiatrist
  • Attends and is active participant in weekly scheduled multidisciplinary team meetings

 

Job Requirements
  • Masters Degree in Social Work/Counseling with appropriate licensure or license eligible
  • Experience preferred working in an inpatient hospital or mental health setting.
  • Must possess knowledge and skills necessary to interact compassionately and appropriately with patients on a regular basis.
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and ability to set priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effective orally and in writing.
  • Exemplary professionalism with respect to confidentiality.
  • Strong interpersonal skills enabling effective team collaboration.
  • Demonstrates ability to understand the role of social worker in a complex, fast-paced inpatient environment.
