Wellstone Regional Hospital,a UHS facility, is a 100-bed acute care facility located in Jeffersonville, Indiana and has been providing quality health care to the residents of Southern Indiana and the Louisville area since 2003. Wellstone specializes in the treatment of Adolescents, Children, Adults, CD, and the Geriatric population. In addition to our in-patient services, we offer out-patient programs as well.

Wellstone currently has a Social Worker/Therapist position available. The candidate selected will work with the Chemically Dependent population. The Social Worker performs social service functions to include assisting patients in meeting their biopsychosocial needs while enabling them to access through therapeutic treatment skills to achieve their optimal level of emotional health.   This includes providing basic consultation, teaching, complete specialized clinical social work services for patients/families receiving care, crisis intervention, short-term and long-term family therapy, and providing information and referrals as needed.


Education: Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in social work or a clinically related mental health field.
Experience: Program Social Worker, requires two (2) years experience in a psychiatric health care facility, with direct experience in family and group therapies, crisis intervention, and treatment skills; must have strong clinical assessment skills. This time in the field can include practicum and internship studies or work at a mental health institution while an undergraduate.
License: Program Social Worker should be licensed as a LCSW, LMHC, LMFT. Experience in the field with appropriate education will be acceptable. The Social Worker assigned to the chemical dependency unit must have a Masters degree, license, and CD certification recognized by the state of Indiana.

Additional Requirements: CPR certification and CPI training prior to assisting in a restraining procedure. The Social Worker must be willing to work flexible hours and hours as necessary.
