In Optum market-Data solution innovative team, we are seeking talented thinkers and SDET (Software Development Engineers in Test) who can unlock next generation software innovations that will deliver a rich, engaging and unmatched customer experience. In this role, you will ensure flawless cutting-edge experiences using existing and emerging automation frameworks.


As an SDET,  you would work with Software engineers as well as other test automation engineers to design, develop and maintain automation frameworks for effective and efficient test execution. Using Agile methodologies for various types data ware house application, you will be responsible to develop new automation scripts and modifying existing automation. You will also look to incorporate your automation into code delivery pipelines (CI/CD) and engineer-reporting tools that help your team stay on top of code quality. SDET will also work with Solution Architects, Developers, Data Analyst, Business owners to understand and implement Acceptance Test Driven Development.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and implement Automated system/Integration tests
  • Write and execute ATDD (Acceptance Test Driven Development) in DEVOPS
  • Deliver solutions in accordance with enterprise standards and within development and operational guardrails
  • Engineer solutions that collect and report test results through various metrics reporting tools
  • Develop in-depth system and product knowledge
  • Constantly evaluate the test automation strategy and approach to identify areas of improvement (i.e. test automation frameworks, dynamic data collection methodologies, coding standards, components and object repository methods, etc.)
  • Mentor and direct other Quality Engineers in automation principles
  • Manage and maintain automated test data generations and utilize test data management approach
  • Partner with product owners and developers to identify areas for improved efficiencies
  • Share and communicate ideas both verbally and in writing to business sponsors, managers, and technical resources in clear concise language that is appropriate to the target audience
  • Participate in communities of practice to share knowledge, learn, and innovate
  • Research and implement tools that support quality delivery of the products
