Cisco’s Core Software Group (CSG) is an engineering organization responsible for the software that runs the company’s flagship Enterprise networking products, including the wireless product offering comprising access points, centralized wireless controllers and application software. As the recognized market leader in wireless, switching and routing, the CSG team is constantly challenged to deliver innovative products across many technologies and market segements; in particular, for wireless, the CSG team is leading the market evolution towards a converged wired-wireless solution with Software Defined Access.
Role and Responsibilities
CSG is looking for an Engineering Manager to lead the design, development and validation of wireless technology to fuel the growth of the next generation Enterprise controller software platform. We are looking for leaders that excel in three dimensions:
Execution: you will be responsible for the development, support, delivery and maintenance of wireless features, including planning, developing and testing the wireless solution in collaboration with other teams. You will also be responsible for regular status reporting on project execution as well as delivering high quality in alignment with Cisco and industry standard practices and metrics.
Technical competency: the company’s success is dependent on the team’s agility and ability to cope with the demands of extreme scale. All this is based on a technology infrastructure that must remain cutting edge. You will have an excellent understanding of wireless technologies as well as experience in software engineering lifecycle for embedded systems. You are familiar with software methodologies and testing (Waterfall, Stage-Gate, ISO 9001, etc; Agile experience a plus).
People management: as part of the site’s leadership team, you will manage a group composed of technical leads as well as software development and test engineers; a proven track record of building high-performance teams with the ability to inspire people and orchestrate work is mandatory.
