Description
Cisco is building a new ecosystem of products and services to fundamentally transform Network Operations into a DevOps style practice. You will work at the intersection of cloud based software, data science, and massively scaled distributed systems. You will design and build software which fundamentally redefines the state of the art of network operations. You will interact with customers, various groups across Cisco, and the external software development community to understand the most pertinent operational challenges, and harness the most advanced technology to improve our customer’s operational quality of life.

Responsibilities
● Design, develop, and test software to support the future of network operations.
● Build and characterize software prototypes based on design proposals.
● Analyze, implement, and deploy massively scalable cloud based systems, services, and infrastructure.
● Understand customer network operational challenges. Build and test DevOps style tools, systems, and practices to address them.
● Track and participate in the external open-source software ecosystem, leveraging cutting edge technologies to design highly scalable software systems.

Qualifications & Skills
● Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.
● Software engineering experience in one or more of the following languages: Go, C/C++, Java, or Erlang.
● Experience in building and deploying software in public cloud infrastructures (Amazon AWS, Google GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc).
● Experience in DevOps practices, including but not limited to, automated build systems, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
● Experience in tools and systems such as Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, Ansible, and Spinnaker.
● Experience in developing/contributing to a distributed open-source project.
● Experience in a network operations environment is desirable.
● Excellent analytical and communication (both verbal and written) skills.
