Location : Ottawa, Canada


Who You'll Work With:

Cisco is actively seeking talented IP/MPLS/EVPN network test engineers in Ottawa, Canada to define, design and build Cisco MPLS, L2VPN and EVPN testing strategies for next generation Cisco routing products that will generate significant revenue. You will champion new methodologies and create scalable software testing solutions for Service Provider customers around the world.


You will be part of a highly skilled team of IP Routing and MPLS test engineers responsible for testing various IP/MPLS protocols, features and customer solutions across Cisco Routing Platforms.


What You'll Do:

  • Defining comprehensive test strategies and test plans based on evolving and changing product specifications.
  • Defining Reliability, Availability, Serviceability (RAS) goals for products. Incorporate RAS in product design/testing.
  • Driving resolution of test blockers and other software issues
  • Working closely with Internet service provider customers to assist them in troubleshooting and deployment of Routing, MPLS and EVPN solutions.

Who You Are:

  • The position requires MSEE/CS, or BSEE/CS combined with 1-2+ yrs of related experience
  • Understanding of Internetworking Architectures involving  IP Routing/MPLS/EVPN Solutions
  • Computer programming skills and experience (C, C++, Python, Java, Perl, TCL/TK) and strong knowledge of software best practices
  • Creativity and ingenuity when solving problems
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks at the same time and manage time effectively to be productive
  • Self-motivated and directed, be able to perform work independently with minimal management supervision. Take ownership for initiatives and assigned tasks and drive to completion.
  • Strong communication skills (English) and experience in a collaborative team environment.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to changing project requirements
  • Experience writing technical documents
  • Employment eligibility in Canada


  • Prior experience in Product testing / quality assurance environment. Superior debugging and testing skills
  • CCIE or other Cisco certifications are an asset
  • Ability to plan large projects and the ability to solve system wide problems
  • Other certifications (i.e. PMP, Microsoft, Juniper, etc.)
