Summary: Summer Intern program with NextGear Capital.   Software Engineering interns are responsible for helping to develop software solutions to support NextGear’s business initiatives, while participating in the AGILE Scrum methodology


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Help develop software as part of an Agile software team including:
    • Complete API or UI tasks as part of the team sprint
    • Fix defects found by QA, product, or the end user
    • Refactor existing code to help reduce technical debt
  • Work closely with Product, UX, Architecture, and other software engineers.
  • Write unit tests in JUnit, Jasmine, and/or other testing libraries
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Demonstrable experience in software development with Java, Angular, React, JavaScript or other comparable technologies
  • Ability to learn and use leading technologies
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to investigate, troubleshoot, and fix software defects and configuration issues
  • Ability to work independently with guidance from Supervisor and Technical Leads
  • Self-motivated and strong team player
  • Ability to manipulate reports in SSRS with training and guidance
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Great customer service attitude
Education and Experience:
  • Current College Student

  • Standing or sitting for long periods
  • Some lifting, reaching, bending for extended periods
Work Environment:
  •  Administrative Office with some work in confined spaces for short periods
