What You'll Do
You'll be part of a dynamic team and be the type of person who has a track record in building and shipping products, comfortable eating your own dog food and wearing many hats in the process of planning, designing and delivering the platforms, tools and services to our customers. This role has the following responsibilities:
* Cisco VTS product development using Java/J2EE and SDN technologies.
* Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, upgrades and properly provisioning all deployments

Who You'll Work With
NFVBU's team is building a standards-based, open software-overlay management and provisioning system Cisco Virtual Topology System (VTS). VTS automates data center network fabric provisioning for virtual and physical infrastructure. The system offers a rich set of automation and programmability capabilities across the entire Cisco Nexus switching portfolio to enhance the deployment of cloud-based services.  You will work in a fast paced agile development team working with cutting edge software and tools to develop disruptive solutions with a focus on simplicity. Are you pushing the envelope?

The Network Function Virtualization Group (NFV) develops software across SDN Controllers, NFV, Virtualization and Cloud native Orchestration portfolio at Cisco and is investing heavily to transform how we build and deliver cloud and data center automation portfolio through cutting-edge solutions.

Who You Are
You have 10+ years of industry experience in software development.  You possess a BS or MS in computer science or a related field.  You have strong working experience in Java/J2EE technologies.  You possess excellent team and people skills and should be comfortable working in geographically dispersed teams.  You will be able to quickly ramp up on new technologies outside of comfort zone and think at scale

Our minimum requirements for this role: 
* Strong hands on experience with scripting languages Python and Bash.
* Good understanding of networking protocols and concepts (TCP/IP, VLANs, CIDR) is required
* Good at multitasking 
* In depth understanding of Linux/Unix command line
* Network and Vitualization experience
* Good understanding of  Cisco IOS and NXOS
* Detail-oriented personality who keeps the big picture in mind
* Entrepreneurship — think like a start-up
