What You'll Do
As a member of this team you will work with both security subject matter experts on the team and the customers of the team to uncover needs, develop solutions, and bring them into production. You will work closely with our Platform as a Service team to integrate security solutions.
Who You'll Work With
Infrastructure Engineering consists of Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Site Reliability Engineering and Security Engineering - together, we build core Internet infrastructure, security applications and distributed systems at scale. Our environment processes 2,000,000+ requests per second, across 25 data-centers and cloud infrastructure providers. Security Engineering is responsible for building out security services consumed by our engineering teams. The security engineering team is composed of both security experts and software engineers. The services we design, build, and deliver help our engineering teams to produce secure products and infrastructure. OpenDNS, now part of Cisco, is an Internet security company that's transforming the way IT departments secure their networks, and more importantly, their users. 
Who You Are
You have experience with programming (in any of the following: Python, Golang, C, C++ and Java) and you have hands-on experience with systems and application security.  You enjoy building and running a high-transactional, 24x7 production environment.  The experience you have with applications includes those that span multiple data-centers and/or cloud controllers.  You have strong familiarity with systems engineering, cluster computing and programming theory and knowledge and experience with object-oriented programming.
Our minimum requirements for this role: 
* Programming experience (see above)
* Experience working with client/server side frameworks and platforms
* Experience with Linux and FreeBSD, configuration and tuning
* Experience with systems configuration management and CI automation
* Expertise specifying, designing, and implementing; traffic routing, health, perf monitoring
* Experience with application delivery platforms for load balancing, caching, compression, application firewalling, reverse proxy, SSL termination, etc. 
* Experience with service performance, monitoring and load automation
