The Sales Executive (SE) for Optum 360 Financial Integrity and Connectivity Services (FICS) has responsibility for selling solutions within the Revenue Cycle arena with a primary focus on revenue integrity.  The solution set consist of Contract Management, Denial Management, Claims Integrity, Electronic Data Interface, Patient Access and Eligibility, Concurrent Denial Management and Medical Necessity Compliance. This set of technology and services help organizations drive financial and operational efficiencies and improve revenue capture.


Working with the Client Executives and Strategic Account Principals in a geographic region, the SE sells  to hospitals, health systems and IDN's, and large provider organizations, calling on the C  - Suite to Director level to qualify and develop interest in solutions, build a quality pipeline and close opportunities  against an annual quota. The SE must be a collaborative solution sales person with ability to work across Optum Client Management, other Solution specialists and Subject Matter Experts The SE will work within  Sales Force to document activity and create account and strategy  profiles is critical to success in managing a territory.  Also the SE will conduct Quarterly Business Reviews to senior leadership to provide state of current business.

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Generating new sales of healthcare revenue cycle solutions  to the South East Region 
  • Identify new sales opportunities as well as work with other Optum Sales individuals to penetrate existing accounts 
  • Managing and executing multimillion dollar opportunities at  the C level 
  • Managing a pipeline of opportunities that allows them to  achieve sales targets 


Required Qualifications:

  • Degree or equivalent experience 
  • Successful track record of selling or pre - sales support  of healthcare revenue cycle software and / or service  solutions, practice management systems, healthcare  analytics or physician services, ambulatory or acute care  market 
  • 3+ years of proven sales, pre - sales support or account management  experience in Provider market 
  • Demonstrated success in leading a consultative sales  experience, calling on and influencing senior level and / or  C - Suite clients in the ambulatory or acute care market 
  • Experience in diagnosing client needs and recommending  solutions that have measurable and positive business impact 
  • Ability to effectively lead the sales process and work  cooperatively with team to achieve sales goals 
  • Proven ability to operate and effectively navigate in a  highly complex, matrix environment with a high level of  collaboration 
  • Superior communication and presentation skills (listening,  written, and verbal) 
  • Strong team player with the ability to work independently  from a home office with minimal supervision
  • Thrives in a high paced, high intensity environment 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and CRM (ex. Salesforce) 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience closing or directly contributing to deals between  $1 - 5M 
  • Have successfully sold practice management, EMR,  clearinghouse, revenue cycle, or claims management / process solutions to large hospitals and provider groups 
  • Established relationships with Provider / Hospital network  with in the defined geographical area
