The Solutions Developer / Business Analyst designs and helps deliver new IT solutions and improvements to current IT solutions within a manufacturing and commercial environment. This role will be part of a small ( 60% - Tech Lead - researches, proposes, and creates technology solutions and processes aligned to business strategies



40% - Business analysis, change-management, technical operational troubleshooting and operational support







ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES



**Technical Solutions Development, Delivery, and Management**







+ Partners closely with the business to identify pain points or business challenges that can be solved with good process and end-user technology solutions and/or data automation.



+ Continuously looks across corporation for "solutions" that can be adopted locally.



+ Operates as the technical lead / solution developer on larger, managed projects.



+ Researches technology solutions, engages vendors, and manages vendor conversations for solution evaluations and pilot considerations.



+ Follows a solution development path in this order: 1) adopt corporate standard, or 2) adopt COTS, or 3) adopt extended COTS, or 4) custom developed.



+ Comfortable building or configuring technology solutions using common and/or novel tools necessary to address a wide range of business problems common in manufacturing environments.



+ Understands the technology balance complexity and completeness vs. just good enough.



+ Demonstrates local expertise as a technical lead and, as needed, solution architect on IT projects or business problems; Strong technical lead experience deploying COTS packages and adopting for business use.



+ Propose system and/or processes and/or data/configuration changes to increase business and systems operational efficiency.



+ Performs IT technical fit-gap analysis and functional operational mapping with other team members.



+ Evaluates functional data and information flows between systems; diagnoses problems and identifies opportunities for process or technology redesign and improvement.



+ Performs technical and operational risk analysis of IT solutions and assists IT Team Lead in aggressively managing risks and reducing operational failures impacting internal business customers.



+ Works closely with PM/BA to deliver system integration projects for custom or corporate applications.



+ Assists with the execution of corporate waterfall and iterative software/system development life-cycles.







**Business Analysis / Change-Management / Technical Operational Support**







+ Operates as the technical expert provide technical, level 1-3 operational support, if required, for applications and systems within scope of department and functional area.



+ Business process analysis to develop information workflows, data maps (Visio, Powerpoint) and charts to illustrate critical business points and opportunities.



+ Builds and writes detailed technical specifications; helps develop testable use cases and executes functional test scripts typical for OEM software and custom deployments.



+ Supports global project deployments ("core solutions") and global IT-related continuous improvement initiatives at the site working in partnership with IT Team Lead, IT Service or Solution Teams, and Business SMEs.



+ Uses high energy to manage and drive productive business customer conversations, discussions, and sense-based decision making on solutions.



+ Prepares and delivers presentations to various customer and technical staff on technology proposals, plans, development, and operations.







Will perform other duties and roles as required by the team and the business customers.







QUALIFICATIONS







+ Proficient in English.



+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical areas (physical or biological science).



+ 7+ years supporting and developing a wide breadth and varied depth of IT solutions and services.



+ Experience within a manufacturing, pharmaceutical, or product production environment desired.



+ Department to small enterprise application design and configuration experience.



+ IT experience working in a small company 50-800 employees - having been a "jack of all trades."



+ Comfortable with small hardware devices (e.g. barcoding, IT appliances) as much as software applications.



+ Experience within a research or QC laboratory environment is desired, but not necessary.



+ Good presentation and communication skills - experience presenting to mid-level management.



+ Excellent people skills - critical thinker that can convey technical / IT problems into simple business language



+ Multiple of the following technical competencies/experience sought:



+ System integration and equipment automation - designing novel solutions using common OTS equipment and custom or vendor supplied software.



+ Laboratory or engineering automation experience.



+ Python / VBScript (or similar) for information and data automation.



+ Microsoft Office including VBA and advanced skills in Excel.



+ Understanding strengths/weaknesses of MS Server and networking environments.



+ SQL Server (SSRS, SSIS) and SQL development (stored procs, data model design, maintenance, end-user data extracts).



+ Crystal Reports / Business Objects / Tableau or other common data reporting and visualization tools



+ SharePoint 2010, 2013 (advanced configuration and set-up of sites, web parts and 3rd party plugins).



+ Proficiency with Web development tools/languages [C# / .NET / IIS / HTML / CSS / Jscript / Ajax / UI / Sockets / Knockout / JQuery (or other JS frameworks)].







Understanding and supporting GMP/GLP applications, including FDA part 11 requirements, validation, change management, SOPs, process documentation, good documentation practices.







PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS



Periodically, will be required to work out on the manufacturing floor and in sterile processing areas. May need to work in tight or confined spaces to implement equipment and software (i.e. automation, end devices). May need to handle lifting up to 10-15 lbs (i.e. typical IT equipment or hardware devices).







**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**



Position requires regular onsite attendance - this position cannot be performed on a remote or telecommute basis on a temporary, short or long term basis.



While work-life balance is a highly respected by Pfizer and management, work environment is consistent with a pharmaceutical manufacturing plant and may not be time bound to standard 8 AM - 5 PM core hours. IT is often a 24x7x365 endeavor. As a member of an IT Team, must be willing and able to work beyond the hours typically defined as a "regular" workday, which may include weekends and holidays. Must have the ability to work effectively under and manage to strict production, time and performance deadlines at times.
