Cisco seeks a Virtual Systems Engineer with specialization in Service Provider to provide technical leadership and guidance to teams in support of pre-sales efforts. pre-sales technical role, showcasing Cisco product solutions, setting up demonstrations and explaining features and benefits to customers and designing and configuring products to meet specific customer needs.

The candidate will have in-depth understanding and knowledge of technologies and applications focused on the Service Provider market. In additional to technological aptitude, the ability to learn quickly and stay current, is also very important.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Virtual Systems Engineer is responsible owning all aspects of technical pre-sales for providing deep technical coverage for the Service Provider Technologies. The engineer will be required to work as a part of global virtual team and delivery support leveraging Cisco Service Provider technologies.

The candidate should:

* Knowledge of service provider business models and the ability to apply baseline SE skills to favorably position Cisco products and solutions to solve technical and business problems.
* In-depth knowledge and strong operating experience Service Provider
* Working knowledge of either Optical or Cable & Video. Strong overall SP background to handle cases across the wide range of SP requirements
* Understands and conversant about Service Provider industry, technologies, solutions, product strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Be able to translate knowledge into sales opportunities.
* Have a strong command of the competitive landscape and competitive vendor strengths and weaknesses
* Demonstrate clear awareness of the Service Provider marketplace, trends & transition
* Knowledge of competitive offerings in area of specialization with the ability to articulate Cisco's competitive advantages and educate the customer
* Ability to communicate at a wide range of technical levels, from the deep dive engineering discussion to higher level visionary ideas illustrating the value a Cisco network brings to the customer
* Must be fluent in English
* Preferable to have Cisco certifications like CCDP, CCNP, CCIE and etc.
* Preferable to have BE/B. Tech with a min of 8 years of experience.

The main responsibilities are:

* Engage in technical discussions and presentations articulating the business and technical value of Cisco Service Provider solutions
* Design and delivery Cisco Service Provider solutions towards customer & partner pre-sales requests.
* Assist with the development of formal sales plans and proposals for assigned opportunities
* Provide technical and consultative sales support.
* Perform technical presentations for customers, partners and prospects
* Help the Account Team and customer ensure technical initiatives tie into the customer's strategy and goals
* Maintain collaborative relationships with Channel partners and ecosystem partners
* Establish collaborate relationships with internal resources such as Business Units, Customer Advocacy Sales and Delivery, and SE technical specialists
* Maintain expertise in relevant competitive solutions, products and services


This candidate must work well as part of the virtual team and understand organization's engagement model and how partners play a key role for success.
