Position Summary:

North Spring Behavioral Healthcare, a subsidiary of Universal Health Services, Inc. (UHS), is an 87-bed, Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS)-licensed, and Joint Commission-approved psychiatric residential treatment facility.

Our school, North Spring Academy is fully accredited by VAISEF and is staff with licensed, dedicated professionals. We are currently recruiting for a FULL TIME (40 hours/week) Special Education Teacher - Computer Aided Instruction to join our team. Teacher assists the general school population by providing recommended instruction in the Computer Lab. We offer the opportunity to make a difference in the live of a child through differentiated curricula, small classrooms (10) and professional development. The work is challenging, but the rewards can be priceless.

Educational services include assessments, instruction, classroom management, documentation, consultation, IEP/IPP report writing, resident supervision and administrative building assignments.

  1. Bachelor's Degree 
  2. Preference given for LD and/or ED endorsement
  3. Strong computer skills are required with a preference for experience working with education software 
  4. While a current Virginia teaching license is preferred will consider candidates that have requisite course work to qualify for a provisional license
  5. Experience with youth in a residential setting is preferred
  6. Must be 21 years of age
  7. Subject to a criminal background check and drug screen
