Prudential International Insurance (PII) continues to be one of Prudential's fastest growing and most profitable business groups. PFI has insurance operations in eleven countries around the world (Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, Malaysia, India, Chile, Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Poland, and Italy) and is looking to fill a new Senior Actuarial IT Specialist position in the Actuarial department in Newark, New Jersey.

The PII modeling team is responsible for a variety of PII modeling missions, such as US GAAP and US Stat modeling support, actuarial platform management, and model risk management. This position will be the key contributor of improving actuarial system/process/models and generating tools to enhance process automation.

Responsibilities:

· Provide strategic and systematic solutions to increase efficiency of existing production process for a variety of products (life, annuity, and investment)

· Provide IT expertise to support actuarial platform conversion or new actuarial models/processes

· Improve independent testing tools for core actuarial models

· Provide modeling expertise for ad-hoc requests

· Support model governance requirements and ensure model compliance

 

 


· Extensive modeling/coding experience, included not limited to VBA, Object Orientated programing, Database management, Web Services and grid computing

· Strong experience on managing the whole process of model development – requirement gathering, design, coding, testing and release

· Experience of model risk management and version control

· At least of 3 years of actuarial modeling experience

· Independent research capability

· Strong problem-solving attitude and skills

· Work well with the team as well as independently

· Strong oral and written communication skills

· Experience with Prophet and Poly is preferred

· Knowledge of statutory and GAAP valuation and financial reporting is preferred
