Job Details

A position within Pfizer Global Supply Center function providing GMP compliant services to a number of different functional groups within Quality Operations. The applicant must have awareness of cGMPs, good lab practices and good housekeeping practices. There must be demonstrated experience with compliance to procedures.



The Metrologist:



- performs and/or oversees vendor performed validation, qualification, calibration and preventative maintenance on laboratory instrumentation used for GMP activities



- generates documentation in support of these activities and develops and enhances systems for laboratory support



- troubleshoots equipment and makes recommendations to Laboratory Team Leaders and Analysts



- performs unscheduled service on laboratory equipment



- performs temperature/humidity verifications on constant temperature enclosures



- schedules and manages calibration/maintenance service contracts with outside vendors



- obtains procedures and training records from outside vendors



- maintains calibration records and files on a timely basis



- updates and maintains calibration database



- maintains and develops calibration procedures as required for new and existing instruments per manufacturing



requirements/specifications



- participates and contributes on group engagement teams to evaluate and recommend improvements to equipment and general laboratory process (e.g. 5S, Lean Lab, and Safety Committee)



- participates and contributes on cost reduction initiatives to the site calibration program



- Supports SLS with import/export activities







**Expected Qualifications & Skills:**



Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology or similar technical field, 5-8 years of related experience and/or advanced degree (e.g. M.S.) in a related field. Strong written and oral communication skills Demonstrated computer literacy in Microsoft Office or equivalent programs, familiarity with document management systems and databases Familiarity with GMPs and applicable regulations, guidelines (e.g. CFR, EMA and ICH publications) and standard operating procedures Ability to work independently and effectively in a team environment with colleagues of diverse backgrounds Ability to complete work within reasonable timelines and to a high quality standard Ability to commit to the Pfizer Values & work in a regulated environment



Experience with MS Word, MS Excel, QTS, Calibration database and PDOCS as well as a demonstrated ability to learn and master new applications software is desired
