Description:

PepsiCo is step-changing its means and methods on analytics in order drive value creation. The Senior Director will lead the Advanced Analytics center team reporting to VP - Insights & Analytics. S/he will help advance thinking and capabilities on Analytics. This individual will operate across a highly-matrixed organization, driving in-depth analysis of structured and unstructured data. S/he should possess advanced statistical skills, strong business acumen and able to effectively communicate across the organization. Someone with an inherent love for data driven thinking, adept at extracting patterns from volumes of data to drive business outcomes. S/he will work with Analytics leads across PepsiCo to build out new data science capabilities. This includes driving proactive behaviors, and being a change agent to advance the business.

  • Develop an Advanced Analytics (shared service) Capability Roadmap in partnership with other Insights & Analytics COEs leads/sponsors, addressing & incorporating other sub-functions needs for data & analytics
  • Lead development and deployment of analytical tools and data science approaches to analyze large data sets and develop custom models/algorithms to uncover trends, patterns and insights in the data
  • Incubate leading edge data science capabilities through external analytics agencies and academic institutions. Develop & implement process that can be scaled/institutionalized for ongoing incubation
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to drive scaled adoption of analytical models developed internally - some of these models would be developed at the Center while others at local markets/sectors
  • Identify capabilities which are currently external vendor led/supported to be in-sourced - developing PepsiCo's proprietary internal knowledge base e.g. Marketing Mix Modelling
  • Develop Mega-Cube capability as a data meshing, multi-lens reporting capability that allows for data profiling in multiple lenses simultaneously, e.g., consumption occasions, shopper missions, sales channels, etc.
  • Monitor data science trends, emerging tools and technologies, and support leadership in developing continually improving framework, processes and best practices for predictive science
  • Assess available structured and unstructured commercial data sources to identify untapped opportunities; upgrade data collection & harnessing tools and techniques e.g. machine learning, artificial intellegence
  • Develop analytics platform in collaboration with IT and external analytic vendor to create/invent next-practice analytics capabilities including advanced modeling, simulators, predictive analytic engines and \"big data\" initiatives; builds new capabilities as solutions to big business problems


Qualifications:

  • Expertise in complex modeling and analytical methodologies including, but not limited to, market segmentation, factor analysis, longitudinal/time-series analysis, and predictive/prescriptive analytics
  • Familiarity with Big data mining, machine learning tools (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, R, Matlab) and visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Spotfire) required
  • A track record of driving results in complex, mutli-stakeholder, volatile and uncertain environments
  • Communications skills - as evidenced by the ability to educate and influence management and staff to act in the best interest of internal clients and shareholders through written and verbal communications. The successful candidate will also possess the proven ability to communicate and manage relationships with cross-functional teams, especially business leaders, to elevate the strategic impact of the function
  • Managerial competency - as evidenced by a track record of identifying, attracting and developing highly motivated and successful Insights professional who have gone on to build records of success. The person must be able to motivate staff and create a high performance ethic among their subordinates, as well as their ability to succeed as a team
  • Global knowledge - as evidenced by having worked or been responsible for influencing decision beyond North America. The ideal candidate will be sensitive and responsive to social and cultural differences
  • Deep, broad, and current consumer packaged goods experience. This person must also have the appropriate awareness and understanding to effectively leverage and prioritize different trends and influences in the space
