Position Description:

POSITION PURPOSE -

The Merchandising Services Sr. Financial Analyst supports the Field Merchandising Team. The SFA works cross functionally with Field Merchandising, Stores and Merchandising Finance. The ideal candidate should feel comfortable presenting and defending their analyses to senior leadership. Some key examples of responsibilities include: developing analyses to support the Merchandising Services strategy including localization, investment decisions, capital allocation, scenario analysis, reporting and analyzing financial results weekly, monthly, and quarterly.

 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES -

Conducts special financial studies and coordinates with other departments in the preparation of statistical studies.

Compiles or prepares reports, graphs and charts of data developed.

Recommends changes in financial analysis methods or procedures.

Support Field Merchandising leadership

 

NATURE AND SCOPE -

Typically reports to Manager Finance

Typically requires highly developed interpersonal skills for dealing with sensitive or controversial situations.

Typically faces situations that are unstructured and require original approaches.

Typically considers new approaches within general policies and short-term goals when solving problems.

Typically, once given general assignments, determines priorities and defines what should be done and how to do it. 

 

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS -

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

 


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience: 3 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS -

Financial analysis, strategic thinking, and presentation skills

Technically proficient in Microsoft Office suite with emphasis on Excel and Power Point

Strong ability to build relationships with all levels of the organization

Ability to influence without authority
