Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
This position is responsible for ensuring and validating the accurate and timely processing of garnishment orders for the company in accordance with laws and statutes that govern the wage orders including research, analysis, reconciliations, and auditing of reports.
MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

50%-Monitor internal and external controls to ensure proper set-up of garnishments in the system, SLAcomplianceand correct process adherence. Monitor day-to-day data receipt and export of garnishment files in accordance with the timeline outlined by the production schedule. Review, file and maintain vendor payroll reports. 

  • Assist with auditing of vendor processes to ensure accuracy and compliance. Work with vendor to resolve any escalations, discrepancies, or anomalies. Work with Legal department to resolve escalated issues requiring immediate attention. Backup Garnishment Analyst working with Legal department to negotiate show cause and defaults. 
  • Advise on complex questions/requests from customers. Processes lump sum payments in accordance with internal company standard operating procedure and regulatory compliance requirements
20%-Work closely with business partners and vendor to ensure correct and timely disbursements of payments.
  • Serve as a liaison between vendor, business partners, and I.T. to research and resolve issues and implementation of changes.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reconciliation of garnishment accounts. Assist with managing vendor account 
20%-Lead special projects/initiatives relating to regulatory changes, process improvement and/or cost reduction.
  • Communicate regularly with the manager, team members regarding task or project status and opportunities to improve service levels or processes. Work with management team and business partners to maintain KB content
10%-Initiate and coordinate activities with internal business partners to ensure garnishment tables in the payroll system reflect current and accurate information.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 2 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Multistate Child Support, Creditor, and Tax Levy Garnishment experience 
  • Multistate payroll knowledge 
  • Strong understanding of the laws and statutes that govern wage orders 
  • Ability to understand and interpret legal verbiage 
  • Familiarity with Tesseract Payroll/HR System 
  • Canadian garnishment experience 
  • FPC or CPP Preferred 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software 
  • Understanding of auditing /reviewing techniques 
  • Ability to create reports and interpret data 
  • Previous involvement with system interface and data management 
  • Process Mapping and Project Management experience a plus 
  • Strong experience in development of efficiencies, process streamlining and implementation of internal controls 
  • Experience with finance and accounting principles including account reconciliations
