As the Senior Health Care Economics Consultant, you will perform critical research and investigation of key business problems. Using phenomenal analytical skills, you will interpret and analyze clinical and financial data from various sources and recommend best approaches for its consolidation and reporting. This position will assume a national role and will work with internal business partners to enhance ACO reporting and processes. The employee is responsible for developing, maintaining, and producing tools that will help UHC stay competitive in an ACO environment and reduce unnecessary medical spend and utilization. The incumbent will develop Value Based Contacting (VBC) datasets, scorecard consolidation and reconciliation processes, a master contract catalogue, and process and procedure rules to ensure reliability and consistency. This position will ultimately provide support to help move the C&S value based contracting and reporting agenda into its next phase. A key new benefit to be provided by this new position is to add value by creating a more consistent and transparent process to communicate value based contracting results.

 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Interpret and analyze financial and clinical data from various sources and recommend best approaches

  • Provide claims, provider, and membership data in support of affordability, trend, and utilization analyses

  • Predict emerging customer needs and develop innovative solutions to meet them

  • Research and investigate key business problems through quantitative analyses of utilization and healthcare cost data

  • Develop and manage to business plans that include both clinical and financial objectives

  • Translate highly complex concepts and conclusions in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences

  • Resource to senior leadership

  • Develop pioneering approaches to emerging industry trends

  • Lead projects to completion by contributing to database creation, quality control and financial reports
