Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
A Sr. Logistics Engineer leads large cross-functional projects in Global Logistics that are typically related to process improvement, strategic initiatives, and/or space and capacity planning and span across multiple functions including Transportation, Delivery, Distribution, International Logistics, Inventory Planning, and Merchandising. A Sr. Logistics Engineer may execute strategic initiatives, perform operational analysis, process improvement, facility and capacity planning, and project management.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

25% "Leads cross-functional strategic or process improvement projects
Mentors and Guides Logistics Engineers
Provides recommendations to Sr. Management"
25%"Conducts time studies, performs zero base analysis, rate analysis, network analysis, statistical analysis, flow path analysis and supply chain analysis.
Develops metrics for business units within Global Logistics.
Identifies Logistics process improvement opportunities through competitive analysis, and critical thinking. Supports and/or leads cross-functional strategic or process improvement projects."
10% Develops reports and runs ad hoc queries.
Identifies and develops business rules and standard operating procedures to streamline operating processes.
Develops and maintains cost estimates, forecasts, and cost models."
10% Provides facility and capacity planning analysis for distribution and transportation functions in Logistics.
10% Reviews and recommends system/software enhancements.
10% Develops metrics and key performance indicators for assigned business unit.
10% Develops business tools and solutions based on knowledge, product or technology.

Responsible for helping others and providing on-the-job training or guidance

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS

Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:


Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
3 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
