Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE:

The Sr. Manager of Building Services primary role is to provide leadership for a Divisional or Project team of Managers and Sr Analysts responsible for the maintenance and asset preservation of Home Depot Stores locations.


MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
  • Responsible for leading a team of managers and Sr Analysts; selection, performance evaluations, training and development of associates.
  • Manage and collaborate with vendor base to achieve established service levels to THD stores. Develop, establish and review work scope specification. Negotiate terms, leverage volume and approve vendors for maintenance trades. Seek out ways improve service levels while achieving efficiencies.
  • Partnership with peers and business partners to create a cohesive cross-functional team.
  • Provide store escalation intervention for major repair/replace issues or large-scale damage resulting from aging store base and/or natural disasters.
  • Initiate, refine and implement best practices obtained through industry relationships, peers and Home Depot partnerships.
  • Provide continuous improvement opportunities through feedback to business partners on quality of workmanship as well as budgetary responsibility for maintenance accounts (ex. Budget, Forecast, variance explanations)
  • Create and sustain an environment of integrity, pride of accomplishment, fairness, learning and personal development.
  • Quote, review and invoice approval for higher value repairs, remodels and capital expenditures.


NATURE AND SCOPE:

  • Position typically reports to Sr. Director of Building Services 
  • Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others. In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:


Environment:

Typically in a comfortable environment but with regular exposure to factors such as temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes which cause noticeable discomfort or a moderate risk of accident or illness.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel more than 50% of the time.


ESSENTIAL SKILLS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

Years of Relevant Work Experience:
5 years

Physical Requirements:

Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Vendor management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage P&L and Capital budget
  • Strong send or urgency and service towards field/stores
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills
  • Summarize and present data, business concepts and initiatives.


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Strength in building cross functional relationships and employee development, mentoring and evaluations. 
  • Ability to work very independently and accept ownership of multiple areas of responsibility 
  • Strong organizational and prioritizing skills 
  • Proficient in interpersonal and communication skills; both written and oral 
  • Skilled in the use of standard software products to manipulate, organize, summarize and present data, business concepts and initiatives.
