Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE
The Sr. Manager HR Services is responsible for ensuring payroll processing and compliance for all U.S. and Canadian legal entities.  The teams ensure that all regulatory pay practices and audit compliance controls are in place to pay associates accurately, protect the brand of the company and manage expenses.  The role is responsible for managing a team of managers, sr. analysts and analysts, and partnering will all levels in the organization to meet the company and department objectives and goals for payroll processing and compliance, system projects and mergers and acquisitions. 

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITIES, AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • 15% - Monitor and guide work activity for the team. Oversee the coordination, organization and appropriate distribution of work. 
  • 30% - Recruit, select, orient, train, guide and develop resources; Manage and monitor team performance against SLAs and performance goals. 
  • 30% - Utilize standard project development methodologies to facilitate delivery of HR System solutions. Manage complex projects from inception to completion, including change management, end-user training and support. Provide Subject Matter Expertise and support to HR and other groups as needed. 
  • 25% - Lead the establishment and maintenance of internal Standard Operating Processes for areas of responsibility. Establish and maintain methods and practices to facilitate communication and integration across key relationships to accomplish goals.
NATURE AND SCOPE
  • Typically reports to Director HR Services 
  • Accountable for direct supervision of the work activities of others.  In addition to personnel issues -- including selection, termination, performance appraisal and professional development of subordinates.
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel:
Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Additional Minimum Qualifications:
Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
Years of Relevant Work Experience: 7 years
Physical Requirements:
Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
Additional Qualifications:
Knowledge and experience of system design and support
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience managing teams 
  • Prior experience within a large organization 
  • Experience with implementation and support of large package software
