**ROLE SUMMARY**



The Learning Solutions Architect will be a key part of the Business Technology Learning Team with the technical depth and experience needed to understand and guide solution development and resolve technical challenges related to the current global Learning Management System (LMS). This resource will also be responsible for becoming a subject matter expert (SME) in any new learning tools that are brought into the environment. The successful candidate will have a solid technical background combined with strong communication and managerial skills. This person will work closely with multiple Pfizer Colleagues and Vendors to lead triaging of complex system issues and participate in the delivery of key learning projects.







**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**







+ Responsible for development, delivery, and support of new enhancements



+ Review existing solution architecture; identify opportunities for improvement



+ Understand change control and change management



+ Assist to deliver solutions on-time, on-budget and with the scope committed to the business.



+ Be able to understand the validated Enterprise Learning Management System (LMS)



+ Work with vendors to lead issue resolution and able to clearly articulate them to the clients



+ Lead the SDLC process and work with Pfizer's Quality Assurance Group on validation requirements



+ Provide both technical and operational leadership to ensure efficient platform operation



+ Provide technical solution guidance for new and existing technology







+ Be aware of new technology trends in the learning industry



+ Be able to communicate well to business clients and project teams



+ Familiarity with courseware used for the Global LMS







**QUALIFICATIONS**







+ Minimum: Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering preferred



+ 5 years of technical/architectural experience with SumTotal TotalLMS (A SumTotal/Skillsoft product).



+ The successful candidate will have a minimum 10+ years' experience as a Solutions developer or technical lead to support implementation and maintenance of a validated enterprise learning solution



+ Windows Server Experience



+ Knowledge of Microsoft and Oracle application platforms and Sharepoint



+ Knowledge of Cognos, Business Objects, Informatica a plus



+ An understanding of relational databases and experience implementing BI solutions on those platforms



+ Previous experience designing and developing high traffic, scalable, enterprise level applications



+ Broad and deep knowledge of common enterprise systems



+ Experience with using Secure FTP



+ 3-5 years experience with IIS (Windows Internet Services)



+ Familiarity with MS SQL Server and Oracle data structure



+ Experience with Shared Content Object Reference Model (SCORM) conformant instructional objects



+ Ability to work in a team environment and work collaboratively



+ Ability to collaborate and communicate well



+ Self-motivated and flexible with the ability to work effectively and independently in a dynamic, problem-solving environment







**NON-STANDARD WORK SCHEDULE, TRAVEL OR ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS**



Occasional additional hours in the evening or weekends as necessitated by workload, project timelines, or meetings with global vendors and peers.



Domestic travel of 10-20%
