Position Description:
The Sr. Manager - Technology Contingent Labor serves as the face of The Home Depot to vendors. This role is responsible for managing the Technology organization’s contingent labor relationships including partnering to align vendor resources to meet internal technology customer needs across prioritized enterprise opportunities. This individual manages strategic vendors relationships across the contractor lifecycle (including onboarding, engagement delivery, and offboarding) and drives contingent labor strategy, cost management, continuous improvement, and performance against KPIs or agreed upon SLAs for strategic vendors. This role is also responsible for completing or delegating operational tasks associated with contingent labor processes, ensuring compliance, and helping to resolve issues as they arise.


  • 35% - Business Relationship: Sources qualified contingent labor vendors as needed. Serves as point of contact for contingent labor vendors and regularly drives alignment to enterprise priorities based on inputs and internal customers’ and partners’ needs (inclusive of skillsets). Manages contingent labor operations. Investigates and reconciles operational and invoice issues as needed. Aligns onboarding processes so that business values are reflected. Addresses questions, concerns, and confusion quickly and effectively. Keeps abreast of changes in the organization that will require revisions. Drives development of vendor change management plans and content as needed. Collects and shares feedback from internal partners and customers for continuous improvement opportunities. Evaluates vendor relationships and recommends termination if necessary.
  • 30% - Process Management: Manages the workflow of contingent labor requests. Executes vendor audit activities and operational needs associated with vendor engagement. Applies analytical skills and vendor management experience to design and implement continuous improvement opportunities for all facets of vendor activities.
  • 20% - Analytics: Executes and delivers analyses such as productivity analytics, performance against goals, trending, analytics, etc. Maintains scorecard and metrics on vendor management, vendor relationships, and contracts. Proactively identifies service delivery issues and provides solutions. Conducts performance SLA/KPI analysis.
  • 15% - Quality Assurance: Ensures existing and future vendor priorities parallel business priorities. Ensures Key Performance Indicators (KPI) and Service Level Agreements (SLA) objectives are met. Ensures all vendors understand and are in alignment with policies and follow SOPs.


Typically reports to HR Director - Technology

Environment: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
Travel: Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


  • Must be eighteen years of age or older.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diplomas and/or GED.

8 years

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience in HR, vendor management, procurement, or staffing
  • Experience partnering with technology vendors
  • Contingent Labor Management (CLM) / Contingent Workforce Management (CWM) experience / Vendor Management (VMS) experience
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Ability to navigate a complex management environment
  • Strong verbal and written skills
