**Role Description** **Position Purpose**



Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to generate customer insights and leverage business opportunities



Ensure customer intelligence and customer findings are fed back into the organization to generate customer insights and leverage medical opportunities







+ Be the go-to-expert for internal customers with regards to clinical expertise and deep therapeutic area knowledge as well as knowledge about Pfizer's pipeline compounds.







Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited requests for information Support disease area medical strategies by implementation of local non-interventional studies, following up on IIR opportunities, supporting feasibilities for phase 1-4 studies, interaction with local clinical investigators and other key medical and scientific activities



**Primary Responsibilities**



**Build and develop enduring peer-to-peer relationships with healthcare professionals and institutions, creating constructive, cross-functional partnerships with internal and external stakeholders to generate customer insights and leverage business opportunities:**







+ To interact with and develop enduring relationships with regional and national opinion leaders and advisors on clinical practice.



+ Medical support for cross-functionally integrated local health economy plans, aligned to the overall strategy for our producst within the operating and clinical plans



+ Medical input into the cross functional team, bringing in customer insights from the medical perspective to the cross functional team and contributing to the brand plans



+ To communicate customer feedback on product development and life-cycle strategies







**Provide high-quality, accurate, balanced and directed information to key customers and stakeholders in response to unsolicited requests for information**







+ In response to an unsolicited request for information, communication of scientific data IM cardiovascular portfolio, including off-label indications and compounds in development if specifically requested.



+ To provide high quality scientific presentations at external meetings where requested



+ To respond to requests for information on safety of medicines and pharmacovigilance



+ Medical support for formulary applications



+ Medical support for requests for information from HTA and sub national HTA bodies and horizon scanning units, including compounds in development



+ Support internal training of customer facing colleagues, enhancing their knowledge and understanding of clinical data and our medicines



+ **To be the go-to expert for internal customers**



+ Timely communication to marketing concerning feedback from the field, clinical trials, clinical papers and marketing matters.



+ Keeping up with literature and developments concerning the product and therapeutic area and ensure prompt availability and entry in the literature database of relevant medical articles.



+ Attend internal meetings, if appropriate, and represent the medical department at these meetings.



+ Prepare, perform and update internal and external medical / scientific training.



+ Scientific support of all departments in case of business critical events.



+ Back up for colleague(s) if applicable (e.g. in GCMA)



+ Medical lead for local/national Advisory Boards



+ Speaker briefings for symposia and congresses where appropriate



+ Media briefings where appropriate, in conjunction with communications team



+ Support for initiatives around enhancing trust and reputation, in conjunction with external affairs and stakeholder strategy



+ Representing Pfizer with the applicable product(s) in the relevant institutions. Discussing scientific developments around the product(s) with the target group.



+ Deliver input to the development of reimbursement projects and dossiers.







**Clinical trials and other studies (IIRs, NIS)**







+ Contact person in the office for clinical trials.



+ Coordinate all ongoing studies



+ Ensure that clinical studies have a clear scientific objective, contribute to product knowledge and have documented plans for patient protection.



+ Ensure flawless execution of clinical studies/IIRs in compliance with internal and external regulations.



+ Working with investigators to evaluate their IIR proposals, including an assessment of study methodology, scientific rigor and what the data will add to the scientific literature



+ Advice on development of IIR concept and full proposal (in line with medical IIR strategy)



+ Internal discussion of proposal with in country and above country medical team and submission into INSPIIRE



+ Follow up with investigators, co-ordination of contract and medication supply if requested. Support for ethics and CTA applications if appropriate. Budget management and forecasting



+ Regular contact with investigators throughout the study, reporting on progress



+ Congress and publication planning



+ Working with investigators on Pfizer sponsored studies, including in house and CRO managed trials



+ Communication with investigators on key developments of the clinical trial program and relevant scientific data as it becomes available



+ Support for investigator meetings and trial steering committees



+ Requesting feedback on clinical trial program and protocol feasibilities from potential investigators



+ Nominating investigators and sites for trials







**Financial/administrative**







+ Budget responsibility: Maintain an accurate financial monitoring system for the local clinical trials, IIRs and other medical activities.



+ Timely and correct entry of data of all clinical trial data in INSPIIRE.



+ Ensure zero default on ethics







**Compliance**







+ Take care of sufficient and up to date knowledge of the Standard Operating Procedures, which are applicable for this function and conduct activities accordingly.



+ Take care of sufficient and up to date knowledge of ICH GCP guidelines and National regulations (CGR).



+ Knowledge of the CGR Code of Practice and FCPA and how it relates to the function of Medical Advisor



+ Ensure internal compliance responsibilities (e.g. MEDIC. MI-02) are fully adhered to







**Qualifications (i.e., preferred education, experience, attributes)**



Medical, para-medical, pharmacy or postgraduate level science degree Minimum of 1-2 year experience in the bio-pharmaceutical industry or related area Fluency in business English An in-depth knowledge of the therapy area, the relevant medicines in the portfolio and the pipeline An understanding of the compliance framework for medical interactions in relation to the applicable regulations, Code of Practice and SOPs A good understanding of clinical research and the ability to critically evaluate clinical study protocols, reports and publications Strong presentation, negotiation and networking skills Business acumen High degree of cross-functional collaboration Ability to communicate clearly information and concepts which may be complex in nature Role modeling, upholding values, adhering to high standards Good knowledge of pharmacovigilance and regulatory legislation and how it impacts the product portfolio Good knowledge of drug development A knowledge of health economics and its impact on medical decision making
