Position Description:
POSITION PURPOSE:
The Senior Analyst of Building Services (Divisional Support) will be responsible for leading small to medium subsets of larger projects and initiatives and individual processes that brings value to The Home Depot. They must possess a high level of analytical ability to distinguish multiple components of a problem and develop conclusions using quantitative skills. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: leading teams on projects, effective communication to teams and other leaders, reviewing and understanding financial and operational data, and identifying trends in business and the retail industry. A successful Senior Analyst of Building Services will possess and demonstrate strong leadership skills, strong communication skills, project management and analytical ability, which will enable them to take the lead on proactive analytics and cost-out project work for accounts such as store use supplies and waste/recycling. The associate must have strong project management skills in order to implement program and process changes while working cross-functionally and communicating to internal and external business partners. The role will require a candidate that has very good communication and customer service skills to tailor messaging to various audiences while acting as a liaison between several functional groups. This role maintains an effective partnership with our field leaders, including Regional/Senior Directors, Regional Vice Presidents, and will also require the associate to provide escalated support and issue resolution.

MAJOR TASKS, RESPONSIBILITES AND KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Lead Project Teams of Analysts and other associates 
  • Perform data gathering tasks, synthesis - develop solutions, project/strategy planning and data utilization 
  • Produce documents for teams and leadership to review and utilize. Deliver presentations to teams and executive leaders and sponsors 
  • Build skills and knowledge including self-development, team knowledge and customer (internal) knowledge. 
  • Deliver presentations to teams and executive leaders and sponsors.

NATURE AND SCOPE:

  • Typically reports to Store Operations Process Manager or Store Operations Business Manager (or Sr. Managers) 
  • No associates report to this role on a permanent basis, but requires the leadership of a work group: assign and review work, train and contribute to performance appraisal (but not hiring, firing or disciplinary action).
ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Environment:
Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.

Travel:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Must be eighteen years of age or older.
Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.

Education Required:
The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

:

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3-5 years of work experience is preferred.
  • Desire to support and provide excellent customer service to field and internal partners including Regional/Senior Directors and Regional Vice Presidents
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and develop business partner relationships to achieve company goals.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Project management skills that include the ability to crate short and long term strategies, including elements needed to execute set expectations.
  • Ability to manage budgets associated with both capital and expense spend.
  • Experience with process improvement and implementation, playing a leadership role.
  • Experience with managing either internal or external groups (ex. Vendors, teams, etc.)
  • Ability to influence others without direct authority.
  • Knowledge in analyzing data trends and reporting.
  • Ability to source and interpret data from a variety of applications.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Access, and Powerpoint).
  • Ability to learn and become sharp in various systems.
  • Management or experience in operations of a multi-store retail environment


Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:
  • Experience leading high performing teams

  • Strong quantitative skills such as statistics and data analysis
