**Internal Job Description**

The Sr. Associate will be responsible for delivering value, including year on year cost savings for Pfizer Essential Health (PEH). Scientific Material categories include capital equipment, laboratory instruments, consumables and supplies as well as equipment services. The senior associate will partner with Global Procurement colleagues within the Pfizer Essential Health Business Line and Pfizer Worldwide R&D Procurement. He / She will support complex local and global souring initiatives and support local operating requirements. This role will act as a liaison with Global Category Strategy Managers (CSMs) and cross-functional teams and will support and contribute to development and implementation of global category strategies.

**I - Category strategy collaboration and operational implementation**

Support CSMs in the development and management of category plans for assigned categories. In particular, provide data analysis and Market specific knowledge to aid CSM in category strategy development.

As required, provide sourcing support for Purchase Requisitions which are not addressed through pre-existing category strategies, and resolve local Procure-to-Pay (P2P) process issues as required.

Deliver PEH category management, including the development of specific strategies for assigned categories, including the leadership and management of cross-functional teams.

Apply appropriate strategic sourcing tools and educate local teams and stakeholders on best practices.

Deliver operational requirements for assigned categories to ensure business needs are met.

Assist stakeholders in understanding and managing changes to Procurement processes, tools, policies and procedures.

**II - Sourcing Activity and Contract Negotiation**

Support complex local souring initiatives, including competitive RFPs and spot buying as required.

Lead and manage contract negotiations to ensure necessary quality, and service levels are met at the most competitive cost in the Market.

Manage approval of contracts and ensure compliance with Company policies and procedures in collaboration with the Pfizer Legal Department.

Ensure savings and added value are tracked and reported in a timely fashion.

**III - Supplier Relationship Management:**

Manage and develop supplier relationships for assigned categories and ensure appropriate risk management.

+ Evaluate and measure strategic supplier performance through the Supplier Relationship Management process. Participate on Global teams to evaluate supplier performance.

+ Act as relationship manager for assigned local and key globally designated suppliers.

+ Identify and achieve ongoing cost savings opportunities within supplier contracts and operational processes.

+ Resolve and improve service related issues with suppliers and internal stakeholders.

**IV - Client Engagement and Customer Relationship Management:**

Establish clear stakeholder strategy and communication plans to focus engagement at a strategic and operational level.

Take a lead role in Local and Regional client relationship management with stakeholders.

Proactively engage with key internal customers; initiating meetings to partner in identifying opportunities to improve supply solutions and best practices.

Meet with Finance representatives regularly to understand actual, forecast and planned expenditure to assess opportunities for assigned categories.

**Skills/Experience Education/Certification**

3 - 5 years Procurement experience in a comparable world class procurement organization

Bachelor's degree required, preferably in a scientific discipline or business administration

Professional Procurement qualification or certification (e.g., MCIPS, CPSM)

In-depth Experience of Strategic Sourcing, Category Management and Strategic Supplier Management

An excellent understanding of the end to end Procurement process including experience of Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

Excellent interpersonal skills throughout all levels of an organization.

Relevant detailed category knowledge (capital equipment, laboratory instruments, supplies, equipment services)
