The Senior Provider Data Analyst is responsible for various activities related to the provider network database which may include any or all of the following: database maintenance, reporting and extracting data for various reports and analyses, and initiating process improvement. Senior Provider Data Analysts develop and maintain standards for database integrity and quality assurance, coordinate corrective activities to clean database and retain users, and manage communication processes with other departments pertaining to improvements. Other responsibilities include conducting audits and providing feedback to reduce errors and improve processes and performance, maintaining current provider data to ensure the quality of the network, and may be responsible for representing the provider network area on projects, reporting and tracking provider calls and complaints, or for the support, coordination, and production of the paper directory cycles.

  • Solve moderately complex problems and/or conducts moderately complex analyses

  • Work with minimal guidance; seek guidance on only the most complex tasks

  • Translate concepts into practice

  • Provide clear explanations and information to others on difficult issues

  • Coach, provide feedback, and guide others

  • Act as a resource for others with less experience

This is a position on the Optum Behavioral Health Provider Operations Root Cause Team responsible for triaging incoming Complex Issue Resolution Team (CIRT) and Service Escalation Team (SET) ePUFs in order to determine completeness of submissions, priority tier, root cause identification, and facilitate remediation of any provider record defects. This particular position is a GL26 which acts as an informal Team Lead for the GL25s on the team. Responsibilities in addition to the above include training, acting as a SME, and backup activities to the manager.
