*Role Description*

We are seeking an energetic and motivated senior research associate to join our T cell therapeutics group at the Rinat Research Unit in South San Francisco. The successful candidate will use a wide range of techniques to characterize potential tumor targets and develop therapeutic drugs. Major responsibilities will include experimental design and execution to evaluate drug candidates with both in vitro assays and preclinical animal models, and to present study results in group discussions and team meetings.



*Responsibilities*

* Contribute to discovery projects for oncology therapeutics by conducting in vivo efficacy studies utilizing tumor mouse models (human cancer xenograft, syngeneic, patient-derived xenograft). * Modify or establish assays/models (for both in vivo and in vitro experiments) to develop novel immuno-oncology therapeutics and cell-based therapies.* Use standard molecular biology and immunology techniques to characterize and identify lead candidate drugs.* Analyze, organize, and present results in small and large group meetings.* Read relevant scientific literature to aid in experimental design.* Contribute to a dynamic, exciting culture that embraces teamwork and innovation.



*Qualifications*

Education/Training:* B.S. degree in biology with 3 years' experience, or M.S. degree in biology with 1 years' experience* Prior experience in the fields of immunology and/or cancer biology preferredTechnical Competencies:* Hands-on experience with in vivo work required. Tumor inoculation and measurement, animal dosing (oral, s.c. and i.v.), blood and tissue collection, is strongly preferred.* Proficiency in immunological assays, including flow cytometry, cytokine release, cytotoxicity and proliferation assays, T cell isolation, is a plus* Demonstrated proficiency in the use of software tools to support data analysis tasks (e.g., Prism, FlowJo, Word, Excel, Powerpoint). * Must have excellent organization and planning skills, the ability to work in a fast-paced environment independently or as part of a team, good verbal and written communication, and strong motivation with a dedicated work ethic.* A willingness to learn and adopt new experimental skills as needed is essential.
