At Cisco Legal, you will work in a dynamic in-house legal department specializing in Services Contracts and Statements of Work. The Contracts Management Team partners closely with functions across the company, sales, services, delivery, operations, and finance just to name a few to provide compelling value to our customers and partner, you will find your job is fast-paced and ever-changing. You'll have experience with the following:

  • Review and approval of standard and non-standard Statements of Work (SOWs) for Customers and Subcontractors (back to back SOWs)
  • Advise and assist the Services Sales teams during SOW negotiation with Customers and Subcontractors
  • Determine appropriate actions and solutions for the more complex legal and business issues related to the services offered.
  • Able to apply policies to the deal and render guidance with a view to achieving the best solution for Cisco and Customer
  • Provide advice and contract interpretation to Cisco senior management on the provisions of specific agreements as well as legal issues that might impact the business.
  • Secure proper approval on nonstandard legal, financial, technical and business issues raised in contract documents
  • Participate in and lead departmental and cross-functional teams focused on continuous process improvement.
  • Assure conformity and consistency in the application of Cisco legal and business policies and practices.
  • Support the training requirements of client organizations by providing presentations on key legal/contract issues that impact the business.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Our Minimum Qualifications & Experience

Typically requires BS/BA degree or equivalent with 8 + years industry related experience.

Legal qualification preferred but not essential

Our desired skills are:

  • The individual will demonstrate the capacity and strong desire to learn new things and quickly apply that knowledge to specific tasks.
  • Strong background in contractual law related to the provision of services.
  • Detailed knowledge of commercial, contract and business law.
  • Experience supporting a multi-jurisdictional regions
  • Commercial and financial knowledge an advantage
  • Experience in commercial negotiation with customers and/or subcontractors
  • Ability to translate commercial/legal scenarios into simple language, business issues professionally.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, negotiation and persuasion skills, including the ability to weigh and articulate the risk and benefit of various scenarios and propose effective resolutions.
  • Ability to work successfully with various levels (mid to senior management) across geographies. The individual will have the ability to operate well in a cross-functional team setting and foster strong relationships with the sales teams, support team members, suppliers, partners or customers.
  • Basic technical knowledge of IT industry
  • Ability to manage a high volume workload
  • Ability and willingness to take independent decisions and actions
  • Strong influencing and leadership skills, including decisiveness on both legal and business issues
  • Sense of humor, team spirit, enthusiasm
